by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 5 May, 2012 at 1:00 pm

Pampero High Back Booster Seat £29.99 @ HalfordsIf you're looking for a cheap, but decent, high back booster seat that'll see you through the four to not-needing-a-car-seat-any-more years then you might want to pop over to Halfords quickly and take a look at this Pampero high back booster seat.  They're selling for £29.99 at the moment, rather than £49.99.

It's hard to imagine that no one batted an eyelid at all kids of my generation bouncing around in the back seats of cars with no car seats, booster seats or seat belts!

Now it's one of the first things you think of buying and can spend an absolute fortune in the process.  It's rather nice when your little one isn't so little any more and you can move on to lightweight booster seats that are much easier to 'drive' than their heftier previous stage cousins.

This Pampero high back booster seat has everything you need to keep your child safe in the car, without all the bells and whistles and frills that push the price up through the sunroof.

Here's the spec' for you:

  • Booster seat suitable for ages 4 years to 12 years (15-36kgs)
  • Seatbelt guides ensure correct fitment of your car's 3 point seat belt system
  • Extendable head support for increased safety
  • Deep padding for extra comfort especially longer journeys
  • Removeable and washable covers for extra hygiene
  • Lightweight and easy to transfer between cars

You can arrange to collect your Pampero high back booster seat for free in-store, wait for four days for free delivery, or pay from £5.99 for next-day, named day or Saturday delivery (at this rate there'll be a 'have your dinner cooked for you by the delivery guy' option there are so many different delivery options to choose from!)

The Britax PRINCE car seat is suitable for littlies aged between 9 months and 4 years (or 9-18kgs).

It has a five-point, one-pull harness and installs easily using a lap and diagonal seat-belt or lap-belt only.  The straps have shoulder pads and the actual seat has three recline position and a slim line base so it fits into modern sculpted car seats better.

Inflatable Booster Seat £19.95 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 12 May, 2011 at 9:00 am

Inflatable Booster Seat £19.95 @ AmazonAmazon are selling this Bubblebum inflatable booster seat for £19.95, instead of £29.99.  This is the cheapest price I can find, the next is over at Kiddicare for £23.

I think this is a GREAT idea and I'm SO buying one!

I've been through the booster seat phase twice with my eldest two and my youngest is getting to that age where a booster seat is all he needs now.

He's not in my car all the time and I'm not one for having a lot of kid paraphernalia hanging around in it; having car seats and booster seats rattling around in my boot drives me insane.

So HOW fantastic to have an inflatable booster seat instead; blow it up when you need it, deflate it when you don't and bung it in the glove box or a door pocket; absolute genius in my opinion.

It would also be ideal for the grandparents to keep, just in case they ever need to collect your child from school (or wherever) and your car seat isn't to hand.  OR for taking on holiday and using whenever a higher kiddy vantage point is required.

I'm rather smitten with this inflatable booster seat, can you tell?! And so are others, the reviews are rather grand.

This ISN'T an Amazon 'Deal of the Week' so the price may inflate (or deflate, of course - do you see what I did there?!) depending on how Amazon feel at any given moment; I'm grabbing one now.

Happy inflatable boosting!

Britax Billy Car Seat £24.99 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 12 April, 2011 at 11:00 am

Britax Billy Car Seat £24.99 @ AmazonAmazon are selling this Britax Adventure 'Billy'  high back booster car seat for £24.99 instead of £59.99 - saving you 58% on the rrp.

I was talking to my husband the other day about how inconceivable it is, now, to think of putting a child in a car and NOT strapping them securely into a car seat; both of us remember just clambering in and bouncing around free on the back seats as youngsters.

It's probably not wise to work out how much money you're going to spend/have spent on car seats over the childhood years of your child(ren), but you can soften the blow by keeping your eye out for deals on seats like this Britax Adventure 'Billy' high back booster car seat.

This is the very seat that my youngest has in his dad's car and they both think it's awesome.

It's lightweight, it's comfortable (Edward says so) and it's standing up admirably to some serious five-year-old abuse.

It has all the safety features you'd expect and want from a Britax car seat: side impact protection, adjustable headrest, seat belt guide so it sits properly over the shoulder and the seat is shaped correctly to ensure the seat belt also sits comfortably across the lap.

This is an Amazon Deal of the Week so you don't have to worry about the price changing the moment you turn your back - you've got until this coming Sunday to buy at this price or until they sell out.

Britax Prince Car Seat £59.99 @ Babies R Us

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 22 March, 2011 at 9:00 am

Britax Prince Car Seat £59.99 @ Babies R UsBabies R Us are selling this Britax Prince Car Seat for half price - £59.99 instead of £119.99.

I'm a bit of a car seat expert, having been through all the car seat stages twice and right in the middle of it again with my youngest.

Substantial 'could survive a nuclear strike' car seats like this Britax Prince car seat can be hideously expensive and they'll only be with your child between the ages of about 9 months and 4 years; trust me, by then you'll be craving something lightweight and easy to whip in and out of the car!

But for now, whilst your little one is still in the little 'vulnerable' looking stage (rather than the rampaging, climbing trees almost in school stage) this Britax Prince car seat is worth its weight in gold (half price gold at that!).

It has all the things you'd expect from a car seat made by Britax: side impact protection, a five-point safety harness, chest pads on the straps and the cover is machine washable.

You can check if the Britax Prince car seats fits your car by clicking HERE.

Standard delivery is FREE as you've spent over £50 and you can order online to collect in store if you want your Britax Prince car seat NOW *grin*

Mamas And Papas Trekker Car Seat £19.99 @ Argos

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 9 March, 2011 at 9:00 am

Mamas And Papas Trekker Car Seat £19.99 @ ArgosArgos are selling this Mamas and Papas Trekker Car Seat for half price - £19.99 instead of £39.99.

I have this car seat in my car for my youngest and it's great; lightweight, simple, converts to a booster seat when he's big enough to not need the whole sheebang and cheap.

PLEASE don't get sucked into the 'cheap means bad' mentality when it comes to second and third stage car seats.

Sure, when you're driving around with a tiny baby or small toddler in the car go for something that's going to protect them in the event of a nuclear war.

But when they can climb trees, leap off rocks and generally hurl themselves around you need something that will keep them secure in the car, has side impact protection for their heads and makes sure the seat belt position is safe rather than a danger.

This Mamas and Papas Trekker Car Seat ticks all those boxes.

It fits front and rear seats, is suitable for kids aged between four and 12 years old and weighing between 15 and 36kgs.

The Mamas and Papas Trekker Car Seat cover is machine washable and is a great buy, as far as I'm concerned, whether it's for use as a primary car seat or an occasional one for the grandparents etc.

But you don't just have to take my word for it; the 109 reviewers on Argos are pretty impressed with it too.

Graco Logico L HighBack 'Metro' Booster Seat £39.99 @ Mothercare

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 25 January, 2011 at 11:00 am

Graco Logico L HighBack 'Metro' Booster Seat £39.99 @ MothercareMothercare are selling this Graco Logico L High Back Booster Seat for £39.99 instead of the £89.99 rrp.

I always loved moving up to this stage of car seat, they are so light and easy to use it’s like a breath of fresh air; no more having to fiddle with three-point harnesses and strapping it in to the car through the back and getting the seat belt all twisted etc, HURRAH.

This Graco Logico L Highback 'Metro' Booster Seat is fabulous, I know it is because my youngest has one.

It's a group 2 and 3 seat and converts to just a booster seat, so it's suitable for kids aged between four and 11 years old.

The headrest and armrests are adjustable, it has big sides for lots of protection against impacts from the side.

I particularly like that it has a multi-position reclining seat, this is still very much required as my youngest frequently dozes off in the car.  He really likes the pull-out drink and snack holders that are tucked away in the front of the seat on both the left and right sides.

The Graco Logico L Highback 'Metro' Booster Seat also has a seatbelt guide to ensure that it always sits in the right place across your child’s shoulder.

Every single reviewer on the Mothercare site gives the Graco Logico L Highback 'Metro' Booster Seat five stars; I give it five stars and with £50 off the rrp you really can't go wrong.

Oh, delivery is free too.

Over 50% Off Selected Plus 15% Sale On All Carseats @ Halfords

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 18 September, 2010 at 6:00 pm

Over 50% Off Selected Plus 15% Sale On All Carseats @ Halfords

Halfords has a sale on carseats, for this weekend only. The store has more than 50% off on some models. In addition, you get a further 15% off any carseat. The discount is automatically applied when you go to checkout. So, for example, a Graco Logica L child car seat is on sale for £49.99, down from £119.99. And when you go to checkout, this is further reduced to £42.49.

The deal also applies to carseat bases and booster seats. To see the full range of products available in this offer, click on the link above, and then on the 'See All' link on the page that appears.

What it I like about deals like this on a car seat, is that it isn't a reduction on just one brand or model. It is worth while researching exactly what you need. Too many parents that I know simply go out and get whatever happens to be to hand or cheapest on the shelf. Or looks nice. Or is allowed to be swayed by the child's desire to have cup holders, pen holders and drawing trays.

The most important consideration is what you consider to be safe. Even if your child is five years old, you really should have them in a car seat with a back and side impact. Unfortunately, unlike the US, it doesn't seem to be possible to get Category II and III car seats in this country (or Europe) that have a five point harness system. Be careful, if this is important to you, that you don't fork out extra dosh for a car seat that says it is a five point harness system AND goes up to Category II. The chances are, when you take off the baby seat bits to make the seat large enough for the older child, it will become an ordinary three point harness seat the same as all the others.

Britax Adventure High Back Booster Seat Alex £25.49 @ Halfords

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 18 September, 2010 at 8:00 am

Britax Adventure High Back Booster Seat Alex £25.49 @ HalfordsHalfords are selling this Britax Adventure 'Alex' high back booster seat for £25.49 until Monday.

Actually they have 15% off all car seats ordered or reserved online until Monday, so if your child isn't ready for this seat then there may be another one that is more suitable for the car seat stage you're currently at.

However, this is the exact seat that my youngest has in his Dad's car, and we all think it's pretty awesome - they're his words, if you want his first hand opinion, "My car seat's pretty awesome isn't it mum!"

He's not wrong either. The price is great - it should be £59.99 but has been reduced down to £29.99 and with the 15% discount applied at the checkout (you don't have to enter any codes), it brings the cost of the Britax Adventure 'Alex' high back booster seat to £25.49.

It has a retractable drinks holder and snack tray - these are VERY handy and get used a lot - the headrest has 11 different height settings so the seat will grow with your child.

The seat belt guides over the hips and shoulder make sure that your child is perfectly strapped in and comfortable, and there is side impact protection too.

The seat is super light too which makes it dead easy to move from one car to another, if you just have one or are handing over your child to the grandparents for the day!

I really cannot recommend this seat highly enough if you're in the market for a high back booster seat. Don't forget the 15% web offer runs out on Monday.

Concord Lift Evo Car Seat For Only £9 @ Mothercare

by Emma Kelly in Deals on 24 August, 2010 at 7:42 pm

Concord Lift Evo Car Seat For Only £9 @ Mothercare

Quick post! This deal on the Concord Lift Evo PT Car Seat from Mothercare might not last for long - so get it while you can! They are selling this car set for only £9, which is apparently a reduction of 92% on the original price of £119.99!

The Concord Lift Evo Car Seat also comes with free delivery from Mothercare!

There were comments in the HUKD thread that this might be a price-glitch, but I am not sure on that front.

A little bit of info about  the car seat:

    • Concord Lift Evo PT is renowned for its optimised side impact protection 'wings' as it provides maximum comfort and all round protection
    • Air circulation systems allowing material to breathe
    • Recline or upright position

Like I said, get in quick because I cannot see this deal lasting for very long.

Thanks to Clareo122 on HUKD and ascottishbloke for letting me know!

20% Off Car Seats And Boosters @ Tesco

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 24 August, 2010 at 11:00 am

20% Off Car Seats And Boosters @ Tesco

Oooh the car seat trail can be a tricky one to navigate! But at least with Tesco offering 20% off car seats and boosters, the price shouldn't be quite as painful.

Which make? Which Model? Which stage? Which will fit your car? Which colour!?

And just when you think you've got it all figured out someone says something, you read a review (good or bad) or you see a car seat in use, you change your mind and leap on the car seat merry-go-round all to go through it all over again.

If you're just beginning this journey and are in the stage 0 phase then take heart, I promise it gets much easier and cheaper as your little one gets older.

I've always used Britax stage 0 car seats, and my youngest moved up to a stage 0 - 3 Britax monster of a seat! It cost me a fortune but it was HUGE and I felt he was very well protected and secure whilst in it.

Now we're on to the much lighter, easier seats that split in half and can be just used as a booster when he's even bigger.

There are lots of seats and boosters to choose from over at Tesco - just make sure you take your time, do your research to make sure that the seat you're thinking of fits your car (this is a good place to start) and try not to fret about it too much because they'll have grown out of it and be on to the next one before you know it!

Graco Junior Maxi Car Seat £25 @ Asda

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 3 August, 2010 at 12:00 pm

Graco Junior Maxi Car Seat £25 @ AsdaAs part of their Baby Event, Asda have reduced the price from the original £39.97 down to £25 which j u s t sneaks it in for free home delivery, or you can collect it in store if you wish.

I know this Graco Junior Maxi car seat is cheap, but it's ok - it's Graco and as your child gets older the seats DO get cheaper, price is not a reflection of quality in this case.

You get so used to paying through the nose for expensive baby and toddler equipment that when we come across something that doesn't cost the earth, we start eyeing it with a bit of suspicion!

I always loved moving up to this stage of car seat, they are so light and easy to use it's like a breath of fresh air; no more having to fiddle with three-point harnesses and strapping it in to the car through the back and getting the seat belt all twisted etc, HURRAH!

This Graco Junior Maxi car seat has an adjustable headrest with a seatbelt guide to ensure that it always sits in the right place across your child's shoulder. The cover is machine washable and there are pull-out cupholders on each side too - my youngest has this seat in his dad's car and it's fab.  The 177 customer reviews on the Asda website are of the same opinion too.

Half-Price Britax King Car Seat £75 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 26 February, 2010 at 7:00 pm

Half-Price Britax King Car Seat £75 @ AmazonIf you're in the market for going up a stage in car seats or need a new one of the same stage then this could be the deal for you!

There are a few BIG baby purchases that you just can't avoid - one is usually an all-singing-all-dancing-could-probably-cook-the-dinner-for-you-if-you-asked-nicely pushchair and the other is a stage one car seat (stage one seats are for babies/toddlers weighing between 9 and 18kgs which is generally between 9 months and 4 years).

I have always had Britax car seats and the last one I bought back in 2007 cost me over £130 - I won't compromise on quality and Britax is a name you can trust but if I could have paid less then obviously I would.

Britax seats are big and sturdy and the sides are well-padded and side impact protection - I always feel that my kids are well-protected because of these big 'winged' sides that they have.

Half-Price Britax King Car Seat £75 @ AmazonThe seat actually tips forwards so that you can easily thread the seatbelt though the fixings, which I think is a stroke of genius and will save your sanity and hours of time fiddling around behind the seat trying to get everything in the right place and not twisted.  It also has a five-point safety harness that tightens up with just one pull which is incredibly useful as it saves fiddling around trying to evenly adjust two straps.

The rrp for this car seat is £149.99 so I wouldn't hang around thinking about whether or not to go for this deal for too long, oh and it also qualifies for the Super Saver free delivery too.
