Single Duvet And Pillowcase Sets From £6.99 @ Home Bargains

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 12 April, 2012 at 9:00 am

Single Duvet And Pillowcase Sets From £6.99 @ Home BargainsHome Bargains are selling various single duvet and pillowcase sets at reduced prices, starting from £6.99.

I can resist chocolate, I can resist cake and I can resist ice cream - even if I really, really want some but I find it almost impossible to resist duvet and pillowcase sets.  It doesn't matter whether they're king size ones for me or single ones for my youngest (the teenagers have double beds), I. JUST. LOVE new duvet covers and pillowcases on beds!

If you have a Fireman Sam, Spongebob Square Pants or Scooby Doo fan, there's a single duvet and pillowcase set up for grabs for them.  If you have a Hello Kitty or Disney Princess fan, there's a single duvet and pillowcase set for them too.

If, however, you've got older children who are a 'too grown-up' for character bedding now, or you're looking for guest room duvet sets, then there's plenty here for you too.

If you live near a Home Bargains then you can collect your single duvet and pillow case set(s) in-store for free, otherwise you'll pay around £2.95 for home delivery.

Bed In A Bag Deals @ Tesco

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 22 August, 2011 at 10:00 am

Bed In A Bag Deals @ TescoI have a real weakness for duvet sets and Tesco have some GREAT 'bed in a bag' deals on at the moment, but only whilst stocks last!

I have a king size bed.

Having had a king size bed I'd never go back to a standard size double for love nor money.  The thing is, king size bedding COSTS a fair bit of money...unless you seize the day and grab bedding deals like these Tesco 'bed in a bag' ones.

This Raspberry Stripe king size bed in a bag set it just £10.13!  The original price isn't listed on the Tesco site BUT I know for a fact that it was more than £30, because I looked at it in-store a g e s ago when it was full price.

There's also an AQUA version that's rather nice too.

There are double versions of these bed in a bag sets but they're different prices:

The double size RASPBERRY set is £8.63 but the AQUA double is £17.25 ( reduced from £34.50 - which will give you some idea as to the original full-price for the king size).

All the bed in a bag sets come with a duvet cover, two pillowcases, a cushion cover and a bed runner; serious bedding bargains in my opinion!

Winnie The Pooh Junior Bedding Bundle £9.99 @ Play

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 29 June, 2011 at 9:00 am

Winnie The Pooh Junior Bedding Bundle £9.99 @ PlayPlay are selling this cute Winnie the Pooh junior bedding bundle for just £9.99, instead of £19.99.

It's always a good idea to take advantage whenever anything Disney is discounted; I don't mind paying for whatever something's worth, but I do resent feeling ripped off which is how it can feel with lots of things Disney.

However, £9.99 for a Disney Winnie the Pooh junior bedding bundle is just a bargain as far as I'm concerned.

his 4 piece set includes a junior duvet and pillow as well as matching duvet cover and pillowcase; marvellous.

I can't find a tog rating for the duvet anywhere but I can't imagine it's going to be a heavy winter one, so it's going to be perfect for the warmer summer months and in the autumn/winter you can simply layer blankets over the top.

The duvet, duvet cover and pillow case are machine washable up to 40C and can all be tumble dried if necessary.

Delivery with Play is free so £9.99 is the total price you'll you have to pay for this Winnie the Pooh junior bedding bundle.

Selected Duvets And Bedding 50% Off Or BOGOF @ Mothercare

Selected Duvets And Bedding 50% Off Or BOGOF @ Mothercare

There’s up to 50% off some children’s bedding and buy one get one free off others at Mothercare. While some lines are already out of stock, it’s still worth a nosey about.

My little girl spent part of last night in her own bed for the first time ever. Considering the bed was only delivered yesterday, that’s pretty good going.  It was a bit of a pain, actually, finding suitable bedding for her, since we didn’t want anything in pink, and normally, girls equals pink. We finally settled on a pretty white duvet cover with blue butterflies.

There’s a bit more selection at Mothercare, although the pink and princess theme is still around, but hey ho. It must just be us.

So, you want some examples, I suppose.  There’s a Ballerina Embroidered Single Duvet Set for £14.99 instead of £29.99.  And the same in a boys themed Race Track Embroidered Duvet Set .

Some of the really cheap items, such as the Stripe Single Duvet Set for £6.49 are out of stock online already, but you could possibly still find them in store if you have one nearby.

Waybuloo Fleece Blanket £3.50 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 28 December, 2010 at 8:00 am

Waybuloo Fleece Blanket £3.50 @ AmazonAmazon are currently selling this lovely Waybuloo Fleece Blanket for £3.50 instead of £9.99

If you’ve never come across Waybuloo then firstly, where you have you BEEN? And secondly, let me explain.

There are four main characters – Piplings – called Nok Tok, DeLi, Lau Lau and Yo Jo Jo.  They are kind and gentle creatures who represent various emotions that children can identify with.

Nok Tok represents wisdom, De Li represents love, Lau Lau imagination and and Yo Jo Jo represents fun and happiness. They live in a land called Nara and children come to visit and go on journeys of discovery and learn how to work together.

When all four of the Piplings are happy this is ‘Waybuloo’ and they all float up to the sky.

I know it sounds a bit bonkers but if you see it, I can pretty much guarantee that you’ll fall in love with the gentleness of it.

So, if you have a Waybuloo fan then all of that, combined with the deliciousness that is being wrapped up in a cosy fleece blanket, means you shouldn't hang around if Amazon have left the price at £3.50 long enough for you to snap one up.

All the usual Amazon delivery blurb applies.

Peppa Pig and George Fleece Blankets @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 21 October, 2010 at 11:00 am

Peppa Pig and George Fleece Blankets @ AmazonAmazon have a couple of lovely deals on Peppa Pig and George fleece blankets at the moment.

It was 1C in my part of the country at half past four this morning, even the dog thought twice before going outside it was that chilly!

So now is definitely the time to have extra blankets at the ready for those chilly nights and frosty early mornings.

If you have a little Peppa Pig or George fan in your house then these are going to be ideal.

For girls, the Peppa Pig fleece blanket is currently up for grabs for £5.94 instead of £9.99.

For the boys, the George 'Pirate' Pig fleece blanket is £6.07 instead of £9.99.

We have a daft number of fleece blankets in my house - they are just TOO useful!  There are a couple kept in the car to wrap up small people (or big people) when it's cold before the heaters warm the car up.

There are fleece blankets on the beds and a few spare in the airing cupboard for grabbing as and when; the cats and dog love sleeping on them too - although they don't mind whether they are Peppa Pig or George ones though *grin*

Both blankets measure 120cm x 150cm, are washable up to 40C and can be tumble dried if necessary; they dry in less than 20 minutes, though, if you can hang them over a radiator or on the washing line.

There's no delivery costs to pay on these either - OINK OINK!

Doodle Duvet Cover

by Sarah Macdonald in Misc on 17 October, 2010 at 10:00 am

Doodle Duvet CoverLet's see what you make of this...

A few days ago a Not On The High Street mini catalogue dropped through my door - I'd never heard of them before.

I had a quick flick through it last night and came across the Doodle duvet cover.

It's printed to look like a feint ruled piece of paper with a margain and it comes with eight special wash-out pens (hahahaa I can hear the groans and mutterings of 'Oh NO!' already) so you can doodle on your duvet, wash it and you have a blank piece of paper again!

I reckon this would be genius in a double or king size, you could leave messages for your loved one to read if you went to bed before them:

'Don't snore tonight please!' or 'Ohhh darling, I'd LOVE a cup of tea and breakfast in bed tomorrow morning, how lovely of you to offer'

For teenagers...not too bad I suppose.  I can imagine girls LOVING it and spending hours and hours creating teenage masterpieces with their mates.

OH OH!! You could leave your teenager messages!

'TIDY YR ROOM!! Thanks, luv mum x' (you have to do the  'yr' and 'luv' bit - it's teenage speak, they might understand the instruction then!).

But for toddlers...? Ooooh I can just imagine the 'fun'.

Hit or Miss on this one? Hit for me if you're older, especially as it's £45.

In the process of writing this I'd talked myself into buying a king-size one; there aren't double or king-sized ones *sigh* I want one now!

Me To You: Fleece Blanket £5 @ Play.com

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 6 September, 2010 at 10:00 am

Me To You: Fleece Blanket £5 @ Play.comThese Me To You fleece blankets are always popular, I know several people who keep missing the boat here - so if you want one, I'd place your order now before the go completely out of stock.

It's the first day of school for thousands of little girls today; if the weather with you is anything like the weather with me, then coming home after a hard day in the classroom to snuggle up under a Me To You fleece blanket is going to be like a little piece of heaven.

It's cute, it's pink, it's girly and it should cost £9.99 but Play are giving it away for £5, and as usual delivery within the UK is free.

It measures 120cms x 150cms and because it's fleece it's super easy to keep clean and look after.

You can wash it at 30 degrees, it'll come out of the machine almost dry and take just minutes to dry on the line or over a radiator.

Bed Linen Deals @ Sainsbury's

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 5 September, 2010 at 8:00 am

Bed Linen Deals @ Sainsbury'sMaybe it's just me, but there's something incredibly satisfying about putting new bed linen on a bed! If you think this too then there are some great bed linen deals currently up for grabs over at Sainsbury's

I think my love for bedding and climbing in between sheets must come from the Sundays of my childhood.  Sunday's was always washing day for my mum and there were always sheets billowing on the line in readiness to be ironed, and put on the bed.

Getting in to bed on Sunday night was always amazing, there wasn't a crease to be seen and everything was crisp, fresh and smelt of the wind that had blown through them.

New duvet sets have the same sort of feeling - ok, so they don't smell of fresh air but it's the newness of it all.

This king-size blue circle 'Tu' duvet set is an absolute steal at £10.66 instead of £15.99 and would look good in any bedroom - yours or the guest one!  By the way, you don't have to have a king-size bed to have a king-size duvet, my mum has a KS duvet on her standard double bed - she said it stopped the usual tussling over the duvet in an instant!

Bed Linen Deals @ Sainsbury'sIf you have a litte tractor fan in your household, like I do, then this red Tu fleece tractor blanket for £6.99 will keep them happy and warm as the evenings and mornings start to get decidedly chilly.

Standard delivery from Sainsbury's is pretty reasonable (more so than Tesco that's for sure!) at just £3.95.

Happy climbing between new sheets!

Myminimonsters Promo Code: Free Delivery On Select Items

Over at Myminimonsters.co.uk, you can get free delivery on selected items on their site. Here are the full details of the offer:

Click here to use the Myminimonsters promo code online

  • Promo Code: PP495
  • Discount: Free delivery
  • Min Spend: £20
  • Applies to: Moses baskets, bedding and gifts
  • Expires: 4th May 2010

Delivery charges on Moses Baskets are normally £8, so this is a handy saving. On comparing the prices of their Moses baskets to other online retailers such as Mothercare and Kiddicare, the costs seem fairly competitive. For example, this Springtime maize moses basket and stand can be bought for £45. I was having a conversation with my friend recently, who said she bought her Moses basket on ebay at a reduced cost. However, as I am having my first baby, I really want everything to be brand new - I am sucked in by the consumerism!Myminimonsters Promo Code: Free Delivery On Select Items

I still need to buy some baby bedding, but I am not sure exactly what, or how much, I will need. I guess you can never really have enough blankets. Would you agree?

I was having a look through the gifts, and this Izziwotnot zimba trike is really cute - it's only £29.99!

Monsters Single Bed Duvet Set £5.99 @ Argos

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 29 March, 2010 at 11:00 am

Monsters Single Bed Duvet Set £5.99 @ Argos I've said it before and I'll say it again.....you can NEVER have too many duvets and pillowcases for your child's bed!

If the weather forecast is to be believed, we're not out of the winter woods yet!  With heavy rain due to set in (and snow for some - yep I know, I thought we were done with that too) it can be a menace trying to get bedding dry if you don't have a tumble dryer, add night time potty training in to the mix and you have a receipe for a Chinese laundry!

Monsters Single Bed Duvet Set £5.99 @ Argos So having more than a few spare duvet covers tucked away in the linen cupboard for a rainy day, literally, is the smart way to go; clean and dry duvet covers always to hand and no frantic drying of the only two you have in front of the fire or with your hairdryer (it's been known!).

This Monsters duvet cover and pillow case set from Argos for just £5.99 is a bit of a bargain in my book and with two other ones to choose from if you don't fancy the Monsters one - Game Over for old skool space invaders fans or Robots - it (or they, if you like all three) make an inexpensive addition to your current bedding numbers.

Monsters Single Bed Duvet Set £5.99 @ Argos They have been reduced from £7.99 to £5.99 and there's a note at the bottom of the Argos page that says the current selling price is valid unti 30/03/10 - that's TOMORROW so if you want these I'd order them pronto, arrange to collect in-store and you won't have to fork out for delivery either.
