The World Of Peter Rabbit Book Collection (23 Books) £23 @ PlayYou can pick up this World of Peter Rabbit book collection of 23 books for a mere £23 if you head over to play - at £1 a book, and nothing to pay for delivery, I think it's a little bit of a Beatrix Potter bargain.

I know we've written about the World of Peter Rabbit book collection before, but I find it almost as irresistible as single duvet and pillowcase sets (see my previous post if that just sounds random).

All of my children have grown up having Beatrix Potter stories read to them at bedtime; my eldest son (18 this year) loved the Tale of Benjamin Bunny the best, because he was naughty.  My daughter (17 this year) loved the tales of Jemima Puddleduck and Mrs Tiggywinkle the most and my youngest son (six this year)?  Well he adores the Tale of Mr Jeremy Fisher with his galoshes.

If you've never laid eyes on a Beatrix Potter book before, or read the stories she's written, then 1) where have you been for the last 110 years?! And 2) you're in for a treat. The stories are soft, gentle and enchanting and the water colour illustrations are just a joy!

The World Of Peter Rabbit Book Collection £27 @ The Book People

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 10 February, 2012 at 11:00 am

The World Of Peter Rabbit Book Collection £27 @ The Book PeopleThe Book People are selling The World of Peter Rabbit book collection for just £27, instead of its £140 list price.

I LOVE the World of Peter Rabbit book collection! Twenty three of Beatrix Potter's most loved stories have been bound in mini hardback books and come presented in a rather fabulous presentation box.

I know it's a rather fabulous presentation box because I've seen it - I bought one for my youngest son when he was born and, at five-and-a-half years old, he still loves having them read to him and, is now, trying to read some of them himself.

The price showing on The Book People website is £30 - just enter code MOON10 into your basket, before you check out, to bring that down to £27.

I don't know about the £140 list price, perhaps we've just got so used to everything being reduced by this amount and that amount that we automatically expect everything to be cheap.

But, regardless, at £1.17 a book (which effectively means the presentation box is free) and no delivery to pay either, the World of Peter Rabbit book collection is my Deal of the Day.

My son's MOST favourite Beatrix Potter story is The Tale of Mr Jeremy Fisher and I find it impossible to decide between that and The Tale of Mrs Tiggy-Winkle - she's just so round and cuddly, even for a hedgehog!

Do YOU have a favourite Beatrix Potter story and if so, which one is it?

Beatrix Potter The Complete Tales (Boxed Audio Set) £10.33 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 4 November, 2011 at 9:00 am

Beatrix Potter The Complete Tales (Boxed Audio Set) £10.33 @ Amazon Oh this would make a stunning Christmas gift for someone small - all of the Beatrix Potter stories on CD and presented in this Beatrix Potter The Complete Tales audio box set.

All of my children have grown up with the Beatrix Potter stories but it's my youngest who fell in love with them most; his favourite story, by far, is The Tale of Jeremy Fisher.

Whilst other stories and characters, like Thomas the Tank Engine, have fallen out of favour due to him being 'too grown up for baby stories', Jeremy Fisher remains on his top three bedtime stories list (he's five-and-a-half by the way, just in case this is your first ever foray into the world of PlayPennies; welcome!).

Six CDs make up this fabulous Beatrix Potter The Complete Tales audio box set; all 23 stories are included, are unabridged and read by some of the following actors Patricia Routledge, Timothy West, Michael Hordern, Janet Maw, and Rosemary Leach.

Reviews from people who've already bought it are gushing, to say the least...

Having great actors like wonderful Patrica Routledge (Hyacinth Bouquet, Hetty Wainthropp etc)reading the stories from classic Beatrix Potter's wast universe really is nothing less then magnificent!
This compilation is a fantastic gift for children and adults alike. Beautifully presented in a pack of 3 double cd's in a carboard caseing, it is easy to store as well.
23 stories consisting of a good six hours listening! All of the characters in Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddleduck, Jeremy Fisher and the rest, really comes to life!I just love this, as does my children.
Well worth buying!

At £10.33 instead of £20 I'd grab one from Amazon before they a) sell out or b) put the price up.

Peter Rabbit Book Collection £25.00 @ booksdirectbargains

Peter Rabbit Book Collection £25.00 @ booksdirectbargains

This Peter Rabbit book collection has been around for a long time - the first set I bought was way back in 1994!

I bought it as a special offer (I don't remember if it was from the same company) before my first son was born. I loved reading him the stories and he loved looking at the pictures before he was old enough to follow along.

I bought another set in 1995 for my daughter and another in 2006 for my youngest son - he absolutely ADORES Mr Jeremy Fisher and always laughs when he loses his galoshes to the pike in the pond.

Why buy three sets? Because they are so lovely, that's why! Both the Teenagers still have their Beatrix Potter 'Peter Rabbit Book Collections' and very occasionally, if you're quiet, you'll catch them reading them again.

The retail price for these 23 beautifully illustrated, and presented, hardback books is £114.77 - now I don't know of ANYONE who's ever paid that price for them (a bit like the huge Times Atlas of the World that I have, which is supposed to have an rrp of £199.99 *giggle*) but it matters not, these books are so delicious I don't care what the rrp is, and £25 is a price I'm more than prepared to pay!
