Johnsons Baby Skin Care Wipes 89 Pence @ Tesco

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 16 April, 2013 at 10:00 am

Johnsons Baby Skin Care Wipes 89 Pence @ Tesco Tesco are selling my most favourite baby wipes in the whole wide world - Johnsons Baby skincare wipes - for 89 pence per pack of 54.

If you think you're going to stop buying baby wipes when your baby isn't a baby any more, think again; my children are aged 18, 17 and almost seven, and baby wipes are still a regular feature on my shopping list.

My daughter and I use baby wipes every day and we both agree that Johnson's Baby skincare wipes are the best for taking make-up off and are bigger, and cheaper, than specific make-up removing wipes.

They are as mild as water, so can safely be used on delicate baby faces too, and contain No More Tears baby lotion to keep skin feeling lovely and soft.

I have no idea whether this deal applies in Tesco stores too, but they usually make their online deals available in the shops - it's worth having a look if you're popping past.  But even if it doesn't apply in-store, there's no limit on the number of packs you can buy for 89 pence and this price is valid until 7 May too, so you've got a little bit of time to stock up if you don't want to go Johnsons Baby skincare wipe crazy all in one go.

960 Little Bundle Baby Wipes £6.79 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 29 January, 2013 at 10:00 am

960 Little Bundle Baby Wipes £6.79 @ AmazonI dread to think about how many baby wipes I've used since my parenting days began in 1994!  And even though my little baby days are over, baby wipes are still a regular feature on my shopping list.

If you sign up to Amazon's 'subscribe and save' deal on these Little Bundle baby wipes, you'll save yourself a fair bit of baby wipe cash over the longer term.  Here's how it works:

You subscribe to this deal and an extra 10% will be taken off the published price (which is already reduced down to £7.45 from £10) making your total cost for 960 wipes £6.79.

Then, having worked out how long it will take you to get through them all, you choose when you'd like Amazon to deliver your next 12 packs of wipes.  It makes wipe buying nice and simple and, if you calculate your use correctly, then you should never have to make an emergency baby-wipe dash to the supermarket again (I've had to do that a fair few times in my time too!).

The Little Bundle baby wipes are soft and quilted, fragrance free, enriched with camomile and aloe vera, and are suitable for newborns and eczema prone skin.

Reviews are good too; here are some, just in case you want a user opinion or two:

I have finally found a baby wipe that both my LO and myself can use, and the rest of my family - we all have excema.  I love them, there simple and do what a wipe should do when needed!!  Just enough moisture to tackle the most messy jobs, but gentle/light enough to even use on LO face.

They flow out of the packet with ease. (a must for messy times) AND having broken cracked skin, they don't stick to my hands!!!  Nappy changing has gone from a nightmare to a pleasant/fun time........Fantastic!

These wipes are brilliant - in both the quality and the price. My baby has sensitive skin so I have to be careful about which wipes to use. These wipes are such good quality and really pleasant to use. An absolute bargain and free delivery too, what more could you want??

Huggies Natural Care Wipes 3 For 1 @ Superdrug

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 10 September, 2012 at 11:00 am

Huggies Natural Care Wipes 3 For 1 @ SuperdrugNeed wipes? Happy to stock up when wipes stray into deal territory?  Then have I got a Huggies Natural Care Wipes deal for you!

They currently have a 3 for 1 offer on the aforementioned baby disposable wet clothes - so that's three packs of 64 wipes for £2.29.

Now, £2.29 for three packs of Huggies Natural Care wipes works out at 76 pence per pack - that's cheaper than the usual Wilkinsons 99 pence per pack deal we write about.

However, you can't arrange to collect your wipes from Superdrug, they're standard delivery is £3, if your order is under £25, which then wipes out any savings to be made.

So, the way I see it, you have three choices:

1) Buy other things you need that will take your order over £25

2) Start getting organised for Christmas and take advantage of Superdrugs other 3 for 2, BOGOF and half-price offers; or

3) Order 11 packs of wipes which totals £25.19 and get 33 of them!

I worked it out, that's 2,112 wipes for 2,519 pence, which works out at 1.19pence a wipe; bargain!

You don't have to add any codes, simply add the 3 for 1 Huggies Natural Care wipes to your basket.

Happy wiping!

Simple Baby Soft Wipes (80 In A Pack) £1 @ Tesco

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 26 July, 2012 at 12:00 pm

Simple Baby Soft Wipes (80 In A Pack) £1 @ TescoThere are various baby wipe deals around at the moment but, having run a few numbers through the calculator, these 80 in a pack Simple Baby Soft Wipes for £1 at Tesco - they're usually £2.48 a pack - seem to be the best of the bunch.

I love baby wipes - both me and my almost 17-year-old daughter use them to take our makeup off with and my youngest likes to wipe various skank and grime off his face and hands with them.

So despite the fact that there are no babies in my family any more, baby wipes will remain a shopping staple for many years to come.

I'm not loyal to a particular brand, they must just 1) smell nice, 2) be soft and cloth-like and 3) not break the bank - point three is molto importante (my mum's back from Italy just now; you might have to put up with the odd bit of Italiano for the next few weeks!), so I'm always on the prowl for the best wipes deals.

With 80 Simple Baby Soft wipes in a pack costing £1, each wipe works out at 1.25 pence each - I haven't found any other deals that can match that; not with their six packs of 54 or their four packs of 64 BOGOF offers for £11ish.

Here are the pertinent facts about the Simple Baby Soft wipes, I guess that's molto importante too *grin*

  • There's no perfume, no colour, no harsh chemicals or anything else unnecessary
  • They contain Vitamin B5 to soften and smooth the skin
  • They contain Chamomile Oil, which is also soothing for young and delicate skin

Happy wiping whatever you choose to wipe with your Simple Baby Soft Wipes!

Huggies Pure And Huggies Natural Care Aloe Baby Wipes £1 Each @ Wilkinsons

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 24 April, 2012 at 11:00 am

Huggies Pure And Huggies Natural Care Aloe Baby Wipes £1 Each @ WilkinsonsEven though I don't have babies any more, baby wipes are still essentials in my household! I'm a particular fan of Huggies wipes and stock up whenever I come across any Huggies baby wipes deals.

If you pop over to Wilkinsons, you can pick up packs of either Huggies Pure or Huggies Natural Care Aloe wipes for £1 each - they're usual price is £2.34.

My children are now 17 and a half, 16 and a half and almost six years old; my eldest son is in the Army, my daughter is currently going through Army selection and Edward is shining his way through school - all of them, and me, are regular baby wipes users.

Jack has discovered they're GREAT for cleaning his block on camp (I kid you not - apparently they remove all sorts of dirt and crud from hard to reach places!); Elise uses them to take make up off and Edward uses them to wipe his hands when we're out and about.

Huggies Pure are billed as being the same as wiping with cotton wool and water and Huggies Natural Care with Aloe contain Aloe and vitamin E which can help prevent, and soothe, nappy rash.

I have no idea whether these Huggies baby wipes deals are available in-store but you can arrange to collect your baby wipe purchases in-store for free.

Happy baby wiping - whatever you use them for!

Johnsons Baby Skincare Wipes 99p @ Home Bargains

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 25 November, 2011 at 11:00 am

Johnsons Baby Skincare Wipes 99p @ Home BargainsOf all the wipes I've used over the years, these Johnson's Baby Skincare Wipes have to be my favourite.  They're not cheap compared to some of the others but at the moment, for packs of 56 wipes, Home Bargains are selling them for 99 pence rather than the £3.25 they usually retail for.

If you think you're going to stop buying baby wipes when your baby isn't a baby any more, think again; my children are aged 17, 16 and five-and-a-half and baby wipes are still a regular feature on my shopping list.

I admit that my eldest son doesn't use them so often, unless we're out and about and hands are in need of wiping, but me and my daughter do.  We both agree that Johnson's Baby Skincare Wipes are the best for taking make-up off and are bigger, and cheaper, than specific make-up removing wipes.

They are as mild as water, so can safely be used on delicate baby faces too, and contain No More Tears baby lotion to keep skin feeling lovely and soft.

I have no idea whether this deal applies in-store with Home Bargains, if you have one near you it'll be worth checking, or you can pay to have them delivered.  There doesn't appear to be any limit on how many packs of Johnson's Baby Skincare Wipes you can order, but the more you buy the more you'll pay for home delivery - click HERE to see Home Bargains sliding scale for delivery charges.

Happy wiping whatever you wipe with baby wipes!

9 Packs Of Huggies Pure Wipes £7 @ MothercareMothercare are selling boxes of 9 packs of Huggies Pure baby wipes for £7, instead of £9.99.

If you're still in the baby/toddler phase of parenthood then you're probably never more than six feet away from a packet of baby wipes.

I don't have babies any more but my household still gets through an obscene number of baby wipes - they are just too handy not to have around.

Sainsburys Baby Event - 1/3 Off Baby Essentials

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 24 March, 2011 at 9:00 am

Sainsburys Baby Event - 1/3 Off Baby EssentialsQUICK! Nip off to the Sainsbury's Baby Event, before Wednesday 30 March, and save yourself 1/3 on a ton of baby essentials; yippeee.

I do love these supermarket baby events, and the Sainsburys' Baby Event is no exception.

It probably doesn't even bare considering adding up just HOW much money we spend on nappies, wipes and other baby essentials paraphernalia; my children are 16, 15 and almost 5 now and we still get through a fair few packs of wipes between all of us.

Wipes are included in the Sainsbury's Baby Event - Huggies wipes, Johnsons wipes, Pampers wipes, Sainsbury's Eco Little Ones wipes and the normal Sainsbury's Little Ones wipes have ALL had 1/3 taken off their usual prices.

Nappies for newborns to toddlers, night time pants and swimming pants by Pampers and Huggies and Nature Babycare are all on the Sainsbury's Baby Event 1/3 off hit list too.

Then there are creams, lotions, potions and powders.

Big tubs of Sudocream (or Sod-u-cream as my daughter once called it years ago) are a must in this house too, not for nappy rash but teenage spots!  It's marvellous stuff and works miracles overnight on almost anything that needs some healing help. A 250g tub at the Sainbury's Baby Event will cost you £2.42 instead of £3.64.

But it doesn't end there.

Baby feeding - food and equipment.  Baby changing - mats, nappy sacks and all associated malarky. Baby healthcare - with a great deal on a digital thermometer and even stuff just for mum.

The Sainsbury's Baby Event started today and applies to orders being delivered by Wednesday 30 March; happy 1/3 saving!

Jackson Reece Wet Wipes 2 For 1 @ Tesco Extra

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 23 March, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Jackson Reece Wet Wipes 2 For 1 @ Tesco Extra

Jackson Reece wet wipes are on a two for one offer at Tesco Extra stores at the moment, making them £2.49 for two packs.

I'll admit that I'm totally biased: I'm a big Jackson Reece wet wipe fan. They are my favourites by leaps and bounds, leaving all other baby wipes in the dust. Having a child with extremely sensitive skin, I discovered Jackson Reece when I was desperate for something that didn't cause or exacerbate her skin condition, which rival products that contain SLS did.

Jackson Reece wipes are unscented and fragrance free. They are biodegradable, compostable and chlorine-free. They contain to SLS, SLES, Parabens, alcohol or lanolin. We've reviewed both their flushable and original wipes here on PlayPennies, and I still think they're the best wipes on the market.

The packaging is recyclable, and there are no chemicals that are harmful to sensitive skin. The wipes are moister than most, and tend to remain so, which is apparently down to the packaging.

The only problem I've often had with Jackson Reece wipes is finding them. While they are available in some Sainsbury's and some Mothercare stores, they never were around me, so I had to order them online. Knowing I can now find them in Tesco Extra too, and at two for one, is fantastic news.

This offer is valid till the 12th of April.

Jackson Reece Wipes Review

by Tamsin Oxford in Reviews on 20 September, 2010 at 5:00 pm

Jackson Reece Wipes ReviewJackson Reece wipes are quite expensive at around £2 per pack  of 72 wipes, but they are really the Ferrari of wipes in my opinion. I recently reviewed the Jackson Reece Flushable wipes and felt that they really did cut the mustard, and these are no different.

First off, these smell fantastic which is always a good thing. Have you ever accidentally bought cheap perfumed wipes and almost gagged when you opened the packet? Yeah, these won’t do that to you, they are quite luscious.

The second thing that really impresses me with the Jackson Reece range is the fact that the packaging is degradable. They are packed full of great organic, good-for-the-environment stuff which is a nice change. Usually I’m quite worried about all the bad stuff in children’s products so these really do take a load off my mind.

Jackson Reece Wipes ReviewI know at least one other mother who’s told me she is happier to use them on messy hands and mouths, as well as bums, because of their gentle organic properties and natural ingredients.

Jackson Reece baby wipes are marketed as being gentle on baby’s sensitive skin and there are testimonials to that effect on their website. So these wipes pretty much tick all the boxes for me. There are, however, a couple of practical issues.

They’re not that easy to find if you’re in the mood for stocking up. If you do all your child-related shopping in Boots Jackson Reece Wipes Reviewthen you’re going to need to look elsewhere to fix your Jackson Reece addiction. This can be a bit of a pain for a busy mother.

Like the flushable wipes, these also stick together and come out of the packaging in clumps. This is particularly frustrating in light of the cost and when you’re trying to restrain a wriggling child.

Jackson Reese Flushable Wipes Review

by Tamsin Oxford in Reviews on 2 September, 2010 at 5:00 pm

Jackson Reese Flushable Wipes Review

I recently reviewed the flushable wipes that I got from Method and really enjoyed them. The only downside was that they got dry quite quickly and the top didn’t reseal very well. Now I’ve just had the chance to play around with the Jackson Reece flushable wipes and I must say that I really like them too.

To start with, the pack that they come in is degradable. That’s just fab. And the wipes themselves are made from entirely organic ingredients so they’re gentle on your hands and skin. At first I thought these were also for cleaning the loo so it’s a good thing I opened them up.

Anyway! The Jackson Reece flushable wipes are just lovely if you don’t like the idea of using scary chemicals on your baby’s bottom. They have Tea Tree oil, aloe vera and lavender in them and they are free from alcohol, lanolin and parabens. I suffer from excema on my hands and I noticed a difference pretty quickly after using these. My daughter has very sensitive skin and these didn't affect her the way other brands sometimes do.

These flushable wipes will completely degrade within eight days of being whisked down the loo and are made from 99% vegetable or plant extracts, including the preservatives. Am rather curious as to what that missing 1% is made of though.

Jackson Reese Flushable Wipes Review They are, however, a bit of a nightmare to haul out of the packet. I had to wrestle the first one out of there with both hands. A no-no for the mum covered in poo. But boy do they smell yummy. Seriously, I could sniff them all day.

While the Jackson Reece flushable wipes are not easy to snatch in an emergency, and they cost 92p for a pack of 10 (ouch!), they are really luxurious, soft and environmentally friendly.

Asda Little Angels Baby Wipes Review

by Emma Kelly in Reviews on 25 July, 2010 at 7:00 pm

Asda Little Angels Baby Wipes Review

Over the last few months since I have had my baby girl, I have been testing out various products, many different types of baby wipes in particular. I got a free packet of Asda Little Angels baby wipes at the Cybermummy conference recently, as I mentioned in this post about the freebies.

Now, I probably would not have specifically purchased this Asda brand myself, as it wasn't on my mummy-radar at all.  I do most of my shopping at Tesco, and only occasionally visit Asda. So, it was good to try these baby wipes out for free.

I was very happy with these baby wipes. In fact, I was quite surprised they were so good, for a supermarket's own brand.

I liked the texture and feel of the material used in the baby wipes. They were surprisingly similar to Johnsons baby wipes, in that regard.

The packet says that they are enriched with aloe vera and baby lotion, but they do seem very mild on baby's skin. As for the smell, they were fragrance-free, and that was grand.

Price-wise, I just had a quick look at the Asda grocery store online, and these baby wipes are £0.87 for an 80pk, and are available for £3 for 4 packs (320 wipes in total). That works out at 0.94 pence each (under a penny per wipe, if you want to compare with other brands).

So in conclusion, if I saw these wipes on special offer in Asda, I would probably stock up on them. The Johnsons brand are still my favourite though, as I mentioned in the Johnsons baby wipes review, and the Huggies are still a definite No-No. I think I will try some more of the supermarket own brands next, to see how they compare with the big names in baby products.

Feel free to share your baby wipes findings in the comments below.

Johnson’s Baby Wipes Review

by Emma Kelly in Reviews on 10 July, 2010 at 5:00 pm

Johnson’s Baby Wipes Review

A few days ago, I wrote a little review with my opinion of Huggies baby wipes. Now, I’d like to share my thoughts by doing a Johnson’s baby wipes review.

Being a new mum, I’ve received lots of baby freebies and I’ve been comparing which products I like the best. For as long as I can remember, my family have been using Johnson’s baby wipes whenever a new baby comes along. I’ve got 7 nieces and nephews, so there’s been lots of trial and error with baby products!

I like the texture of these baby wipes, they’re nice and soft and they do really well when cleaning baby’s bum. They don’t seem to fall apart like the Huggies wipes do. They’re brilliant for cleaning all the little nooks and crannies.

Sometimes, when I don’t want to use a whole wipe, I would rip one in half. Because of whatever way the weave is arranged, you can do this quite easily – it tears right down the middle (but you cannot tear them across the grain).

Even though this is my first baby, I’ve been using Johnson’s wipes for years, mainly as a make-up remover. I find that they are very handy for getting all the sticky mascara off my lashes. And to be honest, these wipes have been applied to a lot of different surfaces in my house... from the cooker to the toilet!! One drawback of using them in places other than on your skin is that they sometimes leave a white residue – I am assuming this is the baby lotion which they are impregnated with.

Whenever I am looking for cheap baby wipes on offer (such as buy 1 get 1 free) in the supermarket, I usually stock up on Johnson’s. Stock-piling for the win!

What sort of baby wipes do you prefer to use?

Huggies Baby Wipes Review

by Emma Kelly in Reviews on 9 July, 2010 at 10:00 am

Huggies Baby Wipes Review

When I had my baby girl 7 weeks ago, I got a free pack of Huggies baby wipes from somewhere... I think it was in the Bounty pack which you get in the hospital. I thought I would write a review on them, as I am sure there are a few mummies who are trying to decide whether to buy Huggies or Johnsons baby wipes, or perhaps a supermarket own brand.

I'm not one to turn my nose up at a freebie, but I have to say I really dislike these Huggies baby wipes!

I don't use baby wipes very much, as I use cotton wool and water on baby girl's botty when I am at home. I only use the baby wipes when I am out and about.

Smell-wise, the wipes seemed fine, I didn't have a problem with that at all.

My main issue with the baby wipes is that whenever I tried to get one out of the packet, I pulled off a really small bit of the wipe, rather than getting the entire wipe out. I don't know why this happened - whether it was due to their strange texture, or my slightly long nails. I eventually resorted to removing 3 or 4 wipes at once, so I could easily get at them when my hands were otherwise engaged with stinky bottoms.

I've got 2 or 3 packets of Huggies wipes to go through because of the freebies at the recent Cybermummy conference, so I will try and use them up, or give them away. But I will never willingly purchase Huggies baby wipes.  It will always be Johnsons baby wipes for me!

Which baby wipes are your weapon of choice?

Pampers Sensitive Baby Wipes Nine Pack £6.99 @ Mothercare

Pampers Sensitive Baby Wipes Nine Pack £6.99 @ Mothercare

Wipes are a parent’s best friend. Seriously. I’m not sure how I lived my life without them before I had kids. They do everything! Suck up spillage, clean sticky hands, fix make-up disasters, stand in as emergency loo paper and so much more.

Normally selling for around £9.99, this is a mega pack of Pampers Sensitive wipes for only £6.99. That’s a whack of wipes to stick in your storage cupboard, handbag and nappy case so you don’t run out juuuust when you need them the most.

The Pamper sensitive range have camomile, aloe and pure water that are soothing and gentle on baby’s skin. They have beenPampers Sensitive Baby Wipes Nine Pack £6.99 @ Mothercare dermatologically tested and are perfume and alcohol free. I am a huge fan of these particular wipes and ended up using them almost exclusively while my daughter was younger.

I like the fact that they don’t have a ridiculous pong and that she didn’t react to them (she has very sensitive skin). The only down side of these wipes, specifically, is that they tend to stick together and then come out in wasteful clumps.
