Case Of Pampers Baby Wipes (12 Packs) £11.88 @ Home Bargains

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 9 March, 2013 at 1:00 pm

Case Of Pampers Baby Wipes (12 Packs) £11.88 @ Home BargainsIf you buy your baby wipes in bulk you can save yourself a whole heap of cash in the long run - you know, I dread to think how much money I've spent on baby wipes during the 18 and a bit years of my parenthood life!

A case of 12 packs of 64 Pampers baby wipes, with or without Vitamin E and fragrance free if you wish, will only set you back £11.88, rather than £29.64.

I've lost track of how many times I've told you about baby wipes, Pampers or others!  But they're just so useful, and even though I don't have small babies or really young children any more there are always baby wipes around the house and in the car.

My mum discovered that they're also rather great for bringing up bathroom taps all shiny and sparkly (don't ask me what on earth made her try it, I have NO clue!) and also clean around the base of them rather effectively too.

I'm sure the bathroom taps won't appreciate that these Pampers baby wipes are soap and alcohol free, along with being dermatologically tested, but anyone with skin will!

You can arrange to collect your case of Pampers baby wipes from your local Home Bargains store for free, or you can pay a few pounds extra and have them delivered to you instead.

Happy wiping!

Compact Cot £39.90 @ Kidicare

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 2 February, 2013 at 9:00 am

Compact Cot £39.90 @ KidicareKidicare are selling this compact cot for £39.90, instead of its full recommended retail price of £129.99 (not sure I believe that full price, but still...)

Compact and bijou is how you could describe this cot - if you don't have the space, or the budget, for a huge cot that transforms into a little junior bed later on, then this is going to be the cot for you.

It measures H90 x W59.5 x L95.5 cm, has two adjustable base settings, is made from natural pine (as opposed to faux pine...?) and is suitable for your child from birth, to around 18 months.

It doesn't come with a mattress, so you're going to need to buy one that measures 90 x 54cm, but it does have slated ends for better visibility, in and out, all the way around, rather than just at the sides.

Delivery of your compact cot is free, because you're spending over £29.99; HURRAH!

Disney Mickey Mouse Baby Sleeping Bag £15 @ Mothercare

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 30 January, 2013 at 10:00 am

Disney Mickey Mouse Baby Sleeping Bag £15 @ MothercareMothercare are selling this happy and smiley Disney Mickey Mouse baby sleeping bag for £15, instead of £34.99.  It has a one tog rating (which is suitable for chilly autumn, winter and spring nights, it'll be too warm for the summer) and is available in sizes 0 - 6 months and 6 - 12 months - just be aware that stock is low for the 6 - 12 months size.

I'm somewhat of a baby sleeping bag fanatic - if you have a baby, you should have baby sleeping bags.  If you have a fidgety babe who insists on kicking off the blankets every five minutes, then wakes up beause they're cold (just like my daughter did when she was little!) then a baby sleeping bag, or two, will save your sleep-deprived sanity.

They'll still be able to wiggle and move around inside their Disney Mickey Mouse baby sleeping bag, but they won't be able to wiggle down inside it.  Your baby will be able to stay snug and cosy during night time nappy changes too (well, on the top half at least) as you just unzip/unpopper the bottom of the bag - my youngest son often used to stay asleep, or doze back off, he was that relaxed and comfortable in his bag.

Once you have a baby sleeping bag, you'll never go back to blankets!

You can collect your Disney Mickey Mouse baby sleeping bag in-store for free, or you can pay an additional £2.95 and have Mothercare deliver it to you instead.

960 Little Bundle Baby Wipes £6.79 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 29 January, 2013 at 10:00 am

960 Little Bundle Baby Wipes £6.79 @ AmazonI dread to think about how many baby wipes I've used since my parenting days began in 1994!  And even though my little baby days are over, baby wipes are still a regular feature on my shopping list.

If you sign up to Amazon's 'subscribe and save' deal on these Little Bundle baby wipes, you'll save yourself a fair bit of baby wipe cash over the longer term.  Here's how it works:

You subscribe to this deal and an extra 10% will be taken off the published price (which is already reduced down to £7.45 from £10) making your total cost for 960 wipes £6.79.

Then, having worked out how long it will take you to get through them all, you choose when you'd like Amazon to deliver your next 12 packs of wipes.  It makes wipe buying nice and simple and, if you calculate your use correctly, then you should never have to make an emergency baby-wipe dash to the supermarket again (I've had to do that a fair few times in my time too!).

The Little Bundle baby wipes are soft and quilted, fragrance free, enriched with camomile and aloe vera, and are suitable for newborns and eczema prone skin.

Reviews are good too; here are some, just in case you want a user opinion or two:

I have finally found a baby wipe that both my LO and myself can use, and the rest of my family - we all have excema.  I love them, there simple and do what a wipe should do when needed!!  Just enough moisture to tackle the most messy jobs, but gentle/light enough to even use on LO face.

They flow out of the packet with ease. (a must for messy times) AND having broken cracked skin, they don't stick to my hands!!!  Nappy changing has gone from a nightmare to a pleasant/fun time........Fantastic!

These wipes are brilliant - in both the quality and the price. My baby has sensitive skin so I have to be careful about which wipes to use. These wipes are such good quality and really pleasant to use. An absolute bargain and free delivery too, what more could you want??

Mothercare Serenity Travel Cot £39.99 @ Mothercare

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 25 January, 2013 at 10:00 am

Mothercare Serenity Travel Cot £39.99 @ MothercareMothercare are selling their classic Serenity travel cot for £39.99 - its usual full price is £79.99.

If you've got a young baby and you don't have a travel cot, then BUY ONE!! They are one of the most fabulous inventions ever, as far as I'm concerned.

Unless you're not intending to stay away from home until your littley is much older, OR you're never intending to have them stay over somewhere without you (grandparents are GREAT for that), then you'll need some sort of portable sleeping device.

There are tons of travel cots on the market and prices can vary from reasonable to just plain bonkers - trust me when I tell you, you don't need a travel cot that plays lullabies, comes with all sorts of pointless paraphernalia and threatens to be able to cook the dinner too.

All you need is something simple and straightforward, and this Mothercare Serenity travel cot fits that bill perfectly.

It's suitable from birth to 24 months, packs away into its own travel case, has padded rails, mesh sides so that you can see in and your baby can see out.  It's quick and easy to put up and take down and is definitely good value for money at £39.99 - just be aware that this price is only valid until 30 January.

In-store collection is free, as is UK delivery - so it's up to you which one you choose.

Happy sleeping on the move!

Hello Kitty Baby Sleeping Bags Half Price @ Toys R Us

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 7 January, 2013 at 11:00 am

Hello Kitty Baby Sleeping Bags Half Price @ Toys R UsToys R Us are selling 0-6 month Hello Kitty baby sleeping bags, with 2.5 and 1 tog ratings, for half price: £4.99 instead of £9.99.

My love for baby sleeping bags can only be described as borderline fanaticism.  In fact, I'm not sure it's even borderline, I think I crossed that line years ago!

You see, my eldest two children were both born in November and whilst my son slept so still it was terrifying, to begin with, going into his bedroom to find him in exactly the same position as when you left him, his sister was an fidget of note!

I tell you, that child did not stay still for more than two minutes; I was forever up and down during those cold winter nights to cover her back up again, only for her to kick the covers off 10 minutes later.  She's still the same now, although I don't go in to tuck her back in anymore - at 17 she can sort herself out.

If they'd had baby sleeping bags when those two were little, I'd have saved myself hours of non-sleep (if you see what I mean), so when my youngest was born in July, I was READY when winter rolled into town and had armed myself with an arsenal of baby sleeping bags.

I cannot adequately express the sheer joy to you: NO more tucking in blankets thousands of times a night - changing nappies in the middle of the night was easy-peasy and, on some occasions, Edward didn't even wake up as his top half stayed wrapped up and warm; just fabulous!

About the Hello Kitty sleeping bag togs (just in case you're not sure): 1 tog is great for spring, summer and autumn, 2.5 tog is for seriously chilly winter nights.

You can't arrange to have your Hello Kitty baby sleeping bags delivered as they're not available for home delivery but, with a Toys R Us in almost every town (or near someone you know, I'm sure), it's not going to be a huge hardship to reserve online then pop into store to collect them.

Pink Chicco Travel Cot £39.99 @ Home Bargains

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 23 November, 2012 at 9:00 am

Pink Chicco Travel Cot £39.99 @ Home BargainsIf you're in the market for a travel cot for a young girly, then you must drop into Home Bargains and take a look at the pink Chicco travel cot they currently have on sale - it's £39.99 rather than £79.99.

Travel cots are marvellous inventions you know; if I was asked to put together a list of 'must have' baby items then a travel cot would most definitely be on it.

This particular Chicco travel cot is nice and simple, but also has a couple of extra features that you'll find very useful.

It has mesh sides all round, so that baby can see out and you can see in; it comes in its own carry case and has a removable padded mattress.  It folds up and opens out easily and has a double safety catch, so you don't need to worry about it closing when you don't want it to.

The two long sides can also be opened out, which is going to make making it up with a sheet etc much easier than having to lean in over the top to do it - trust me, I know!  There's also a cute little matching pyjama case that hangs on the end of the cot, which can also double up as a back pack further down the age line.

You can arrange to collect your pink Chicco travel cot from your local Home Bargains store for free, or you can pay a little extra (it shouldn't be more than £5.95 - it depends on how Home Bargains classify your parcel size) and have it delivered to your door.

Happy sleeping away from home!

Mamas And Papas Nico Cot £49.99 @ Argos

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 4 October, 2012 at 12:00 pm

Mamas And Papas Nico Cot £49.99 @ ArgosArgos are selling this Mamas and Papas Nico cot for half price - £49.99, instead of £99.99.

My three children all slept in cot beds - cots that convert into first beds - but they are BIG beasts of things and not everyone wants, or has the space, for something that huge straight away.

A normal size cot is the solution and Mamas and Papas always make such nice ones; the thing is, they can be expensive which is why the deal for this Mamas and Papas Nico cot is going to be my 'Deal of the Day'.

It features a lovely natural wood design, has an adjustable three-position base and is suitable for babies from birth, until they're approximately two years old or weigh 15kg.

It measures L126, W66, H97cm and you'll need to buy a mattress, measuring  L120cm W60, separately - apparently this is so parents can decide which mattress they'd like to be ripped off  for choose!

The Mamas and Papas Nico cot isn't available for free in-store collection, home delivery is going to cost you an additional £8.95 (which is fair, it is a big heavy item) and will take at least four weeks.

Simple Baby Soft Wipes (80 In A Pack) £1 @ Tesco

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 26 July, 2012 at 12:00 pm

Simple Baby Soft Wipes (80 In A Pack) £1 @ TescoThere are various baby wipe deals around at the moment but, having run a few numbers through the calculator, these 80 in a pack Simple Baby Soft Wipes for £1 at Tesco - they're usually £2.48 a pack - seem to be the best of the bunch.

I love baby wipes - both me and my almost 17-year-old daughter use them to take our makeup off with and my youngest likes to wipe various skank and grime off his face and hands with them.

So despite the fact that there are no babies in my family any more, baby wipes will remain a shopping staple for many years to come.

I'm not loyal to a particular brand, they must just 1) smell nice, 2) be soft and cloth-like and 3) not break the bank - point three is molto importante (my mum's back from Italy just now; you might have to put up with the odd bit of Italiano for the next few weeks!), so I'm always on the prowl for the best wipes deals.

With 80 Simple Baby Soft wipes in a pack costing £1, each wipe works out at 1.25 pence each - I haven't found any other deals that can match that; not with their six packs of 54 or their four packs of 64 BOGOF offers for £11ish.

Here are the pertinent facts about the Simple Baby Soft wipes, I guess that's molto importante too *grin*

  • There's no perfume, no colour, no harsh chemicals or anything else unnecessary
  • They contain Vitamin B5 to soften and smooth the skin
  • They contain Chamomile Oil, which is also soothing for young and delicate skin

Happy wiping whatever you choose to wipe with your Simple Baby Soft Wipes!

Britax Prince Stage 1 Car Seat £57.95 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 27 June, 2012 at 10:00 am

Britax Prince Stage 1 Car Seat £57.95 @ AmazonIf you're after a safe, strong and comfortable Stage 1 car seat then you should consider this Britax Prince car seat - it's currently on sale with Amazon for £57.95 instead of £114.

All three of my children have spent their car seat days in Britax car seats; they are the name I trust the most and I will and have paid full price for them.

However, you don't have to - if you're in the market for a Stage 1 car seat (that's around the 9 months to four years old mark) then you can take advantage of this half price deal on the Britax Prince car seat.

This is the seat that my youngest son had and it was fabulous.  You can secure it into your car using the three point seat belt on either rear-side passenger sides, or the front passenger seat, or you can secure it in the middle with just a two point lap belt.

It has a five-point safety harness which firmly straps your child into it and has  a one-pull adjustment system; it also has three reclining positions and is light enough to make it easy to move between cars.

The seat is deep and its cover is very well padded and washable AND, if you're going to be flying with your child, you can even use it on the plane.

Happy car seat safety

Huggies Pure Baby Wipes 99p @ Home Bargains

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 9 June, 2012 at 8:00 am

Huggies Pure Baby Wipes 99p @ Home BargainsIf you're a Huggies Pure baby wipes devotee, like I am, then you'll want to click on over to Home Bargains and stock up on them for 99 pence a packet (64s) instead of £2.99.

  • Click HERE to stock up on Huggies Pure baby wipes

My teenage daughter and youngest son get through a fair number of baby wipes during the course of a year; we use them for all sorts of different things and a pack of them is never very far away and I refuse to pay £2.99 for a pack of Huggies Pure baby wipes again...if I can possibly avoid it.

And avoid it, thus far, I have because when I find them on offer I buy numerous packs of them and stash them away.

I use baby wipes for all sorts of things; my daughter, Elise, uses them to take make up off and my youngest son, Edward, uses them to wipe his hands and face when we're out and about.

Huggies Pure are billed as being the same as wiping with cotton wool and water and are just great for slinging in your bag, keeping in the bathroom (don't flush them down the loo) or in the car - everywhere where they may come in handy!

I have no clue whether Huggies Pure baby wipes are available for 99 pence in-store too - if you have a Home Bargains local to you, and are passing, you could pop in and have a look.  But if not, you can arrange to have them delivered to store for free, you'll just have to wait a few days before you can pick them up.

Happy wiping!

Huggies Pure And Huggies Natural Care Aloe Baby Wipes £1 Each @ Wilkinsons

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 24 April, 2012 at 11:00 am

Huggies Pure And Huggies Natural Care Aloe Baby Wipes £1 Each @ WilkinsonsEven though I don't have babies any more, baby wipes are still essentials in my household! I'm a particular fan of Huggies wipes and stock up whenever I come across any Huggies baby wipes deals.

If you pop over to Wilkinsons, you can pick up packs of either Huggies Pure or Huggies Natural Care Aloe wipes for £1 each - they're usual price is £2.34.

My children are now 17 and a half, 16 and a half and almost six years old; my eldest son is in the Army, my daughter is currently going through Army selection and Edward is shining his way through school - all of them, and me, are regular baby wipes users.

Jack has discovered they're GREAT for cleaning his block on camp (I kid you not - apparently they remove all sorts of dirt and crud from hard to reach places!); Elise uses them to take make up off and Edward uses them to wipe his hands when we're out and about.

Huggies Pure are billed as being the same as wiping with cotton wool and water and Huggies Natural Care with Aloe contain Aloe and vitamin E which can help prevent, and soothe, nappy rash.

I have no idea whether these Huggies baby wipes deals are available in-store but you can arrange to collect your baby wipe purchases in-store for free.

Happy baby wiping - whatever you use them for!

Fisher Price Love U Zoo Swing £47.76 @ Tesco

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 2 April, 2012 at 11:00 am

Fisher Price Love U Zoo Swing £47.76 @ TescoTesco are selling this Fisher Price Love U Zoo baby swing for £47.76 - Boots are selling it for £79.99, Play and Mothercare for £84.99 so Tesco is definitely the current place to go!

A baby swing, or chair, of some description is an absolute must in my opinion; if I was ever asked to compile a top 10 list of 'essential baby equipment' then a baby swing, like this Fisher Price Love U Zoo baby swing, would be on it.

Baby swings which boast a ton of features can be huge beasts, but this Fisher Price Love U Zoo baby swing has a compact and lightweight design, so you can easily move it around the house and take away with you.

There are various hanging toys, that rattle, for your baby to reach out for, along with a leaf to pull which activates to songs and two animal sounds.  The seat is nicely padded and can be set to vibrate and/or rock to send your baby gently off to sleep.

The seat padding can be removed and bunged in the washing machine and there's a three-point safety harness too.

Delivery to your home will cost £4.95, or you can arrange to collect your Fisher Price Love U Zoo baby swing in-store for free <---- that sounds like the best option to me!

Baby Sleeping Bags BOGOF Deals @ Mothercare

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 20 March, 2012 at 9:00 am

Baby Sleeping Bags BOGOF Deals @ MothercareThis very time last year Mothercare had some BOGOF deals on baby sleeping bags, they're running the same offer again this year; hurrah!

As far as I'm concerned, baby sleeping bags are a MUST HAVE baby item - they are such a genius invention and have saved me many hours of missed sleep (does that make sense?) due to not having to keep tucking blankets back in.

In fact my love for baby sleeping bags could, now, be borderline fanaticism.  You see, my eldest children were both born in November and whilst my son slept as still as a statue, his sister was a fidget pants.  Honestly, that child could not (and still can't) stay still for more than two minutes and I was forever up and down during those cold winter nights covering her back up again.

My youngest was born in July and come the winter I was armed with an arsenal of various baby sleeping bags for him and ohhh the joy!

No more tucking in blankets thousands of times a night, changing nappies in the middle of the night was a piece of cake – a quick un-popper of the baby sleeping bag at the business end leaving the top half of baby still snuggly and warm; marvellous.

Prices start at £22.99 and go right up to £39.99.

Lollicot Drop Down Cot £50 @ Mothercare

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 14 February, 2012 at 11:00 am

Lollicot Drop Down Cot £50 @ MothercareThis Lollicot drop down cot is going to be my Deal of the Day - it's currently available for pre-order with Mothercare for £50 instead of £150, and it looks great.

If you're expecting a little boy, already have one and are looking to move them into a cot from a Moses basket, OR perhaps need a second cot that will stay at a grandparent's house, then this Lollicot drop down cot could be just the thing you're after.

It made from wood, painted in a lovely pale china blue, and has a rather cute but subtle tractor with trailers motif on one end.  There are three mattress heights and it has a single-handed drop-side mechanism.

A mattress isn't included - they rarely are, it's so you can choose the type of mattress you want rather than having one imposed on you - and the size you'll need is 120cm x 60cm.

Lollicot drop down cot stock will be arriving with Mothercare on 20 February so you can either collect your Lollicot cot in-store after this date, or wait for it to be delivered to your home for free.

Braun Thermoscan Digital Thermometer £19.15 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 11 February, 2012 at 12:00 pm

Braun Thermoscan Digital Thermometer £19.15 @ AmazonAmazon are selling this Braun Thermoscan digital thermometer for £19.15, at the moment, instead of it's usual £32.99.

If you took my temperature now, I s-w-e-a-r it would read 'minus something' - it was -10C when I got up this morning and I'm freezing!

Okay, so I know I'd be in big trouble if my core temperature was a minus number (a very long time dead, in fact) but having a plus temperature that's too high is also more than a little dangerous.

It's always tempting to say, "if you have babies, or young children, in the house then you should really consider having one of these Braun Thermoscan digital thermometers in the first aid cupboard," but, to be honest, even if you live on your own, or don't have kids, you should have a digital thermometer.

The Braun Thermoscan digital thermometer is the medics' digital thermometer of choice and is about as reliable as you're going to get.  It's easy to use, simple to read and is a non-optional piece of first aid kit as far as I'm concerned.

They're not cheap though, so when you come across a good  Braun Thermoscan digital thermometer deal (like this one!) you should consider taking advantage of it, if you don't already have a digital thermometer.

Obaby Atlas Scribbles Pushchair (Black) £39.99 @ Kiddicare

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 30 January, 2012 at 11:00 am

Obaby Atlas Scribbles Pushchair (Black) £39.99 @ KiddicareI rather like the look of this black Obaby Atlas Scribbles pushchair - it's rather funky - and I also like that Kiddicare are selling it for £39.99 rather than the full retail price of £79.99.

Pushchairs, strollers and travel systems never really 'did it' for me but if I had to chose one today then I'd definitely consider this Obaby Atlas Scribbles pushchair - it's got all the features you need without all the useless bells and whistles you don't.

It has various reclining positions making the Obaby Atlas Scribbles pushchair suitable from birth; it comes with a raincover and a shopping basket; it has a five-point safety harness and an adjustable leg rest; it has lockable front wheels (very useful) and ergonomic foam handles.

It weighs just 7.7kg, is easy to fold and has great reviews from existing Obaby Atlas Scribbles pushchair owners...

"This buggy was real value for money! The wheels are swivel which is great for a cheaper buggy and its easy to open and close. Lies back fully for when asleep. Great little buggy."

"Bought this for the grandparents who child mind my 10 month baby as previous pram was bulky and heavy and liked it so much kept it - really light weight but very plush. Love it love it."

As your Obaby Atlas Scribbles pushchair is over £30, Kiddicare will deliver it to your home for free.

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 2 January, 2012 at 11:00 am

Fisher Price - Friendly First Bouncer £21.99 @ PlayPlay win the trophy for having the lowest selling price for this Fisher Price - Friendly First Bouncer at the moment, £21.99 instead of £35.99.  The other usual suspects are selling for between £27 and full price, so Play are definitely the place to go if you're in the market for a bouncy chair for your baby.

If you're already a little way down the parenthood path you'll already know how invaluable a bouncing baby chair/rocker chair/call them what you will is - babies love motion and a bouncing baby chair like this Fisher Price - Friendly First Bouncer will come to your rescue on more than one occasion.

You know, thinking about it, if I could work out how many hours my three children spent in their bouncy chairs - awake and asleep - and could work it out against the cost, then I can guarantee they'd work out to be one of the most value for money items of baby equipment bought.

This Fisher Price - Friendly First Bouncer has a soft padded seat, which is machine washable, and a removable toy bar to keep your baby amused whilst awake and they've got fed up of watching you potter around.  It also has a vibration setting that will help soothe your baby when they desperately want to sleep but, for some reason, insist on fending off the Land of Nod until the bitter end.
