Beatrix Potter The Complete Tales (Boxed Audio Set) £10.33 @ Amazon

Beatrix Potter The Complete Tales (Boxed Audio Set) £10.33 @ Amazon Oh this would make a stunning Christmas gift for someone small - all of the Beatrix Potter stories on CD and presented in this Beatrix Potter The Complete Tales audio box set.

All of my children have grown up with the Beatrix Potter stories but it's my youngest who fell in love with them most; his favourite story, by far, is The Tale of Jeremy Fisher.

Whilst other stories and characters, like Thomas the Tank Engine, have fallen out of favour due to him being 'too grown up for baby stories', Jeremy Fisher remains on his top three bedtime stories list (he's five-and-a-half by the way, just in case this is your first ever foray into the world of PlayPennies; welcome!).

Six CDs make up this fabulous Beatrix Potter The Complete Tales audio box set; all 23 stories are included, are unabridged and read by some of the following actors Patricia Routledge, Timothy West, Michael Hordern, Janet Maw, and Rosemary Leach.

Reviews from people who've already bought it are gushing, to say the least...

Having great actors like wonderful Patrica Routledge (Hyacinth Bouquet, Hetty Wainthropp etc)reading the stories from classic Beatrix Potter's wast universe really is nothing less then magnificent!
This compilation is a fantastic gift for children and adults alike. Beautifully presented in a pack of 3 double cd's in a carboard caseing, it is easy to store as well.
23 stories consisting of a good six hours listening! All of the characters in Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddleduck, Jeremy Fisher and the rest, really comes to life!I just love this, as does my children.
Well worth buying!

At £10.33 instead of £20 I'd grab one from Amazon before they a) sell out or b) put the price up.

Paddington: Please Look After This Bear And Other Stories Audio Book £3.04 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 7 July, 2011 at 9:00 am

Paddington: Please Look After This Bear And Other Stories Audio Book £3.04 @ AmazonAmazon are selling this rather lovely Paddington Bear audio book and CD for £3.04 instead of £6.10.

I loved Paddington as a kid; he was just so cute and cuddly!

I spend a fair bit of the time out of the country and catch the Heathrow Express from Paddington.  I can't help but think of Paddington Bear every time I'm there because the station is full of Paddington Bear merchandise and memorabilia for tourists to buy.

From deepest, darkest Peru and with a love of Marmalade, this Paddington: Please look after this Bear and other stories audio book and CD is, pretty much, guaranteed to delight young and old(er) alike.

The stories include "Please Look After This Bear", "A Bear in Hot Water", "A Disappearing Trick" and "Paddington and the Amateur Dramatics" and are introduced by Michael Hordern, who narrated the original Paddington series that was shown on the BBC (I used to watch that).

The illustrations in the book are just lovely and kid will love to read along with the CD and go on cheeky, and hilarious, adventures with Paddington Bear and his marmalade sandwiches.

Fairy Non Bio Gel £3 @ Sainsbury’s

Fairy Non Bio Gel £3 @ Sainsbury’s

Fairy Non Bio Gel is currently £3 at Sainsbury’s as compared to £4.69.

So, remember a couple of weeks ago I told you about the Winnie the Pooh Audio books you could get with the purchase of Fairy Non Bio products? You just have to send your receipt in with your address and name to the folks at Fairy Non Bio, and they’ll send you one of three lovely audio books?

Well, now Fairy Non Bio is discounted too so you can get your 18 washes and your free Winnie the Pooh story for £3 – not bad, I think.

Mr. the Pooh has become the first ‘character crush’ in our house and my daughter walks around everywhere pointing out “Pooh” – which I’m always very eager to encourage with, “Yes, it’s WINNIE THE POOH”, just in case anyone thinks my child’s particularly fond of oversharing.

We’ve even gained a few sets of Duplo thanks to the bear – (mercifully, Argos has had Winnie the Pooh Duplo on sale too, if you’re interested.)

Anyway, include this purchase in your normal groceries and you won’t pay delivery (£3.95) on orders over £100 (on specific days, oddly.) But I’ve seen the offer in a couple of shops this week and there’s always click and collect for free.

50% off 50 Audio Books @ Audible.co.uk

50% off 50 Audio Books @ Audible.co.ukTime is precious, knowledge is power and relaxing is critical - audio books can help with all of these things!

I love books (in case you hadn't already worked that one out from my previous posts) and I love to learn but alas, my life is so busy I only get time to read for myself when I go to bed and am doing REALLY well if I manage to read more than a token three lines.

Audio books have provided me with an alternative solution! I can listen to them when I'm in the car. I can listen to them when I'm out walking the dogs. I can listen to them when I'm doing all of the 'fun' domestic stuff I have to try and fit in around everything else.

They are the ultimate in the literary killing of two birds with one stone and I love them - I think there's also something about being read to as well, it can be really very comforting.

Audible.co.uk have 50% off of 50 audio books ranging from fiction to comedy to self-help non-fiction, there's bound to be something here to take your fancy and with prices averaging around £4.99 you could even treat yourself to a couple.

You don't need to join (although you can if you want to) and all audio books are compatible with iPods - yippeeee!
