This is such a fun looking little ride-on! I am looking at it and thinking of a little boy called Jasper who had his first birthday as a pirate party. What fun this would have been as a present for him.

There’s a button-on mast which activates realistic pirate ship sounds. It includes two figurines, cannon, anchor and a pirate flag.  The deck hatch opens and doubles as storage for accessories and treasures.

They say on the website that this toy helps the child improve motor skills, social and emotional development, physical development, hand to eye co-ordination, visual development, sound awareness and creativity.

This cute little toy isn't that widely available anymore, but I did find it at Play.com for £17.94 and Smyths Toys for £14.99. So the Argos eBay price looks like a pretty good deal. Postage on the site is £1.99.

This cuddly Winnie the Pooh soft toy glows in the dark - now I bet you didn't see that coming given the name of the toy! The idea is that it will keep your baby company at bedtime, providing a huggable & comforting presence during the night.  You charge the Winnie the Pooh with sunlight. I'd hope though that they mean daylight, otherwise it might have a limited use in this country!

The toy is suitable for babies from birth. It certainly is one of the cutest Winnie the Pooh toys I've seen. I just love his little hat. I wish I could find some customer reviews though, to see what people thought of it. I guess I'd be wondering whether a tiny baby would find this comforting, or be freaked out by it. Could make a fabulous gift though.

We love our Smart Trike. It’s probably the best thing we’ve purchased since being parents. Our daughter hated  being strapped in, so a pushchair just never worked for us for very long and she’d never sleep in one either. She was a sling baby from the day she was born, until 18 or so months when I became pregnant again and couldn’t carry her around anymore. We got a trike and we’ve never looked back. I think she liked being ‘in control’ or at least thinking she was.

This trike has a Timmy character plaque and a decal sheet for personalising the trike.  It has a sturdy tubular frame and a clutch for switching between free-wheeling or pedal power. There’s also a removable parent handle which is great for moving on from push bike to tricycle.

The trike has wide wheels for stability, and an adjustable seat for comfort. The handles are removable, which I’m not sure what the point of is, and also a rear bucket for carrying light baggage.

The maximum user weight for this is 30kg, and it comes flat packed for assembly.

I have looked around, but can’t seem to find any images of this chair in the other two positions. All pictures online just have the straight highchair image, but I’m sure this description will help you figure it ou.

The lower half of the chair, the tray table, is actually a table that the chair rests on top of. The tray can be removed to sit the chair under the table. It has a simple unclick mechanism, but is very sturdy, apparently, when clicked in place.

The chair does have safety straps which are removable for easier cleaning, and no fabric means there’s nowhere for food to get stuck.

One thing a reviewer mentioned is that this ‘aquamarine’ coloured chair is much greener than the blue image pictured and it suits a child up to 20kg.

This scooter is a brand new, unused, unopened and undamaged item. It has extra stability for beginners, and three wheels for balance.  The footprint has a scene from In The Night Garden on it and is printed with an anti-slip material.

Easy grip handles attach to a height adjustable handlebar with a height range of 64-70cm. It’s size is H75, W38, D60cm but when it’s folded it’s height is 48.5cm.

Suitable for ages three and above, the maximum weight for using this is 20kg.

Now, one of the things that made Toy Story such a great series of movies, for me at least, was the use of real toys. Like Barbie, and I especially liked the way they even got the sound of her moving just right. Took me right back to my childhood! The telephone in the third movie is also based on a classic toy, unsurprisingly from Fisher Price. And you can still buy this one if you want, rather than the Toy Story one. It is available at Argos for £5.34 including delivery, if you want.

The Toy Story 3 version is bigger, and has more features, hence the heftier price tag. You can use the dial to 'call' Woody or Buzz Lightyear for a chat, listen to the chatter telephone ring to attract your attention or use the telephone to hear about how to get by the monkey and out of the day care centre.

As the talking chatter phone is pushed along it makes a squeaking sound and the  eyes move up and down. Batteries required and (sadly) not included - you'll need 3 x AA. It is suitable for ages 2 years and over.

• Dress up like a fairy fantasy princess

In royal purple, this set is a four in one consisting of a crown, necklace, star-shaped sceptre and “high-heeled” shoes.

The crown, or tiara, has sequins and sparkles, and is pretty much the quality you expect from these things, but they are brand  new items from Argos.  They do say, however, that the packaging might be damaged as it’s been shipped around but one of our lovely HUKD folk mentioned that she’d ordered a few bits from them recently and has been very impressed with how quickly it’s been delivered, so that’s always a good start.

These are suitable from age 3 up and would make great stocking fillers, advent calendar gifts or a nice present as a four in one gift.

We actually own the Peppa Pig version of this chair, and while it’s a little like Martin’s chair in Frasier’s lounge, (it sticks out like a sore thumb and doesn’t match with anything else, in case you’ve never watched Frasier) it is a total hit with our little girl.

It’s ‘her’ chair and she sits on it whenever she is in the lounge. We paid a bit more than £4.98 for our, but it’s been totally worth it.

The Thomas and Friends version has a Thomas logo in it, and a tubular steel frame. The chair bit is fabric, but it’s pretty strong and can handle up to 50kg of weigh – although you’d have to have pretty miniscule hips as it’s only 38cm in width.

This is not an adult sized chair. It is only 53cm in height, so it’s easy for a child to get on to and off of. It’s also one of those ‘funny’ ones as they say it’s suitable for children three years and over, but my daughter has adored hers since she was 18 months old!

I have to say right off the bat that luggage that costs just over £2 a piece doesn’t strike me as being particularly good quality. That said, it does have a 12-month Argos warranty, so it can’t be too bad.

There’s a wheeled suitcase with elasticated packing or clothing retaining  straps, two wheels anda tow handle. It’s (H)46, (W)28, (D)11.5cm in size and empty, weighs .83kg, so pretty light, which is a great thing when you have weight limits.  It’s not a massive bag though, as it only has a 15 litre capacity.

The backpack is  even lighter, weighing just over 100g with a 3 litre capacity.

There’s also a gym bag, which is just under 100g, but it has a greater capacity at 4.5 litres.

And as a final touch, perfect for girls, the set includes a purse with a half litre capacity, so perfect for your liquids on flights, or your make-up bag inside your handbag.

Reviewers  love the set and at this price, it does seem to be a winner.

I’m still on the lookout for things to make our garden a haven for our little girl for this summer. While I know she can entertain herself for hours with a simple twig and sand mound, I do like the look of this three-part water table.

Suitable for indoor and outdoor use, this can be filled with sand, water and small toys (although none of those are included.) One of the reviewers mentions a “good lid” and added toys, although there’s nothing about it in the description.

The sand and water table has 4.3 stars from 23 reviewers, which is pretty good. Reviewers say that it’s a good height for toddlers and 100% of them would recommend it to a friend.   It comes with a 12 month Argos warranty.
