Celebaby: Wedding Bells for Brad and Ang'

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 14 April, 2012 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: Wedding Bells for Brad and Ang'In a world where glamourous and glitzy celeb' wedding are king (you know what I mean) Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have always kicked against going down that particular aisle.

Despite both being married before (once for Brad, to Jennifer Anniston, and twice for Angelina) they both famously said they'd not get married to each other until the legalisation of same-sex marriage in the US.

In recent interviews though, it's become apparent that both Brad and Ang' have been coming under increasing pressure for their children to tie the knot.

"It seems to mean more and more to our kids," he revealed back at the beginning of the year, "We made this declaration some time ago that we weren't going to [get married] till everyone can. But I don't think we'll be able to hold out … it means something to me, too, to make that kind of commitment."

Angelina also told how the kids had been asking why they weren't married like Shrek and Fiona, "We've explained to them that our commitment, when we decided to start a family, was the greatest commitment you could possibly have.  Once you have six children, you're committed."

A tough call, hey - choosing between your high-profile moral posturing and the wishes of your kids!

The engagement has been confirmed by Brad's 'people' and described as a 'promise for the future' with no date for the wedding having been set. However, there are massive building works going in on at the sprawling Pitt-Jolie estate in Provence.

There's a little chapel on the £35 million estate and there's a large white, rumoured to be, reception hall being built behind it with a view to being completed by September...in time for a wedding perhaps?

For those who want to know about the ring - Brad designed it, in collaboration, with Angelina's private jeweller Robert Procop and is reported to be worth a $250,000.

"Brad had a specific vision for this ring, which he realised over a yearlong collaboration. He wanted every aspect of  it to be perfect, so I was able to locate a diamond of the finest quality and cut it to an exact custom size and shape to suite Angelina's hand," is the official word from the jeweller.

"Brad was always heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design evolution.  The side diamonds are specially cut to encircle her finger. Each diamond is of the highest gem quality."

Well there you go then!  I wonder who's going to design the dress, whether it'll have a huge split up the front and whether Angelina will strike 'that' leg pose when standing in it...

Celebaby: A Sparkler For Stacy Solomon And Pressure For Ang' To Have One Too

Celebaby: A Sparkler For Stacy Solomon And Pressure For Ang' To Have One TooStacey Solomon

My daughter can't stand Stacey Solomon, but I think she's lovely; yes my not-so-inner snob could wince at her amazing Essexness but she's a fighter and overcome a lot in her 22 years on the planet - THAT'S why I like her.

Always smiling, well most of the time anyway, Stacey's just returned home from New York with her NOW fiancee who popped the question whilst they were away.  I wonder if he'll make an honest woman of her before their new baby arrives next year, or whether they'll wait until after?

Either way, I hope the fairytale doesn't stop for Stacey, gawd luv 'er!

Angelina Pitt...?

A sparkly engagement ring on her ring finger or the name Angelina Pitt aren't two things we're going to see any time soon; Angelina has been speaking about marriage during interviews to promote her new film and said that her and Brad don't have any plans to get married.

During a TV interview she admitted that the most pressure is coming from the kids...

"The kids asked me the other day and I asked them if it was just because they wanted to have a big cake. They see movies that have the people getting married in the movies or somebody's, you know, the happily ever after. Shrek and Fiona are married.

We’ve explained to them that our commitment when we decided to start a family was the greatest commitment you could possibly have. Once you have six children, you’re committed."

I should say!  Six kids, my brain won't go anywhere near trying to imagine that; three's enough!

Celebaby: Coach It Like Beckham

Celebaby: Coach It Like Beckham"Yes, Coach Beckham!"

Lots of young boys across the globe go to football/soccer practice after school and at the weekend, and lots of dads pitch in - whether it's being coach, the touchline medic or the manager.

Imagine this...

You're a little laddy living in Los Angeles, you join the local boys footy team and rock up to discover your coach is international football hero, and superstar, David Beckham!

Well that's exactly what's going on Stateside just now; David was recently snapped, with Romeo and Cruz, training a group of youngsters in the fine art of kicking a ball around with your feet (seriously, rugby is MUCH better!).

Celebaby: Baby Portman And Bits And Pieces

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 16 June, 2011 at 11:00 am

Celebaby: Baby Portman And Bits And Pieces

I fancied a little Celebaby buffet of bits and pieces today

Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman has had her son.

The news was announced by people.com but that's IT, that's all we know.

There's been no comment from the Portman camp so we don't know when her son was born or where - I wonder how people.com even know...?  This is why I'm not a news story hound and other people are!

More news as and when we get it; if we get it...

The Brange' Clan

Celebaby: Baby Portman And Bits And PiecesAngelina, Brad and Co are currently in Malta.

Brad's working on a new film - World War Z - and whilst he was busy in the 'office', Angelina took the kids to an indoor play park - it has to be like going on full-scale military manoeuvres every time they go out.

The twins, Vivenne and Knox, decided to go in fancy dress - Knox chose to be a tutu-wearing ladybird (there's a boy who clearly won't be dictated to by gender stereotypes) whilst Vivienne opted for a pink princess look.

I have NO idea what on earth Angelina was wearing, it looks like an old grey blanket my nan used to have!  It's made just a bit happier this morning knowing that Ang' doesn't look good in everything

Flippin' 'eck Suri

Oh yes!

JOY and rapture!

Suri Cruise has been papped wearing FLIP FLOPS two days in a row; I know, amazing!

Suri's been voted as the fourth 'cutest celebrity child' in a recent poll in Heat Magazine (I feel 'dirty' even knowing that fact) she was beaten to the number one spot by Cruz Beckham (I wonder her son winning that accolade cracked a smile on Victoria's face...?).

I must confess, I think Suri's a beautiful little girl and never more so when she's just casual like on this occasion with her hot pink dress and super-comfy flips flops.

I can't see her ever leaving the house dressed in ladybird or pink princess fancy dress costume though, can you?!

Celebaby: Brad, "I Always Wanted A Big Family"

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 19 May, 2011 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: Brad, "I Always Wanted A Big Family"Brad Pitt has spoken about how he always wanted a big family; good job really, otherwise he'd be a bit unhappy and his life would be hell!

Can you believe that he's 47?! THAT makes me feel old - I used to have a big crush on Brad when he was young, clean-shaven and floppy haired; I can't say I'm so keen on the scruffy dude look.

He has six children with Angeline Jolie - three biological and three adopted.

"I had a friend who had a big family when I was a kid. I just loved the chaos around the breakfast table and the fighting and the ribbing, and the mom making pancakes for everyone or the dad making pancakes.

And I just decided then if I was ever going to do it - this left some indelible mark on me - if I was ever going to do it, that's the way I was going to do it."

I find it can be tricky enough organising and hearding three kids, and two of those are at the older end of the teenage spectrum, let alone SIX; the entire Brang' gang flew into Cannes earlier this week, it really must be like going on military manoueveres just to pop out! Do they have a minibus I wonder...?

If you enjoyed seeing Brad starring in films such as Fight Club then you might want to skip the next bit, for fear of disappointment.  He says he's chosing his film roles differently now because of the kids.

Brad recently voiced a character in Megamind and Angelina is one of the voices starring in Kung Fu Panda 2.

"'I'm a dad now. It's more important to me that if I'm going to do the film, there's something I can bring to it, it's not generic.

Most of all, I'm painfully aware that my kids are going to see these when they're older, and I want them to understand something about their dad, and I want them to be proud of their dad."

================

There's still no news on Pink's baby by the way - her due date was 18 April! There's not a whisper about any impending birth on her website or Twitter page; I hope everything's ok...

Celebaby: Lily 'I'm not too young' and Shiloh Goes Flying

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 2 July, 2010 at 11:00 am

In Celebaby today - Lily Allen talks having a family (again) and Shiloh Pitt is in the cockpit.

"I'm not too young"

Celebaby: Lily 'I'm not too young' and Shiloh Goes FlyingAt the ripe-young age of 25, Lily Allen has declared she is retiring for five years so she can concentrate on other 'more important things' like...having children.

"I don’t think I’m that young to have a baby. My mother had me when she was 23," she comments, "it’s difficult as a woman who wants a family. Kids take up your whole life, particularly in the first two or three years." Yeah, erm Lily...try the first 16, at least!

Lily gives one of the big reasons for wanting a family as giving her something ‘more solid, something that exists, that makes me feel more grounded’. Well having kids certainly brings you down to earth with bump, but I'm not sure if that's the kind of 'grounding' she's after!

Shame, when did I get to be such a killjoy? Oh yes, when I stepped foot into the land that's on the reality side of the fence. Get a puppy, they're solid, exist and clearing up after them will make you feel grounded too!

As to whether someone is too young or not, well that's a debate that will r a g e until the end of time, but 25?  Too young? I suppose it all depends on the person...

Shiloh Pitt In the Cockpit

Celebaby: Lily 'I'm not too young' and Shiloh Goes FlyingOk, so I made that up.  She wasn't in the cockpit, she WAS in the backseat though whilst Angelina had a flying lesson but I couldn't get backseat to rhyme with Pitt!

Angelina has had her pilot's licence since 2005 - I wonder if you get a provisional licence first the same way you do with your driving licence and then have lesson..? - and has, apparently, already promised Shiloh lessons of her own. Is there a minimum age for flying planes...? So many questions, I think I might just have to ask my very good friend Google...hang on.

Right! So, you can fly at 14 but you're not allowed to fly solo until you're 16. To get your pilot's licence here in the UK, you must have stacked up 45 hours flying time and 10 of those must be solo; you're not allowed to have anyone else in the plane other than an instructor until your licence has been granted - every day's a school day and all that!

Well, on the back of that little bit of research it looks as though young Shiloh is going to have to wait a while longer before she can really be Shiloh Pitt in the cockpit!

Celebaby: Suri Not! & Ang' On Quitting Hollywood

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 29 June, 2010 at 11:00 am

In today's Celebaby we rejoice at Suri Cruise looking like a normal four-year-old and wonder if Angelina really is about to quit Hollywood.

Suri not!

Celebaby: Suri Not! & Ang' On Quitting HollywoodOHHH my heart jumped for joy when I saw these delicious pictures of Suri Cruise barefoot, wearing a simple little summer dress and without a scrap of makeup on!

Just LOOK at how cute she is when she's not dressed up to the nines.  I have to say, the same goes for Katie too who looks about 10 when she's dressed like the rest of us.

Katie is currently filming for the mini-series 'The Kennedys' in which she plays the part of Jackie Onassis, during a break in the proceedings she whisked Suri off for a bit strawberry picking.

I wonder if they played the game we always used to play as kids at the Pick Your Own place?  'One strawberry for me and one for the tub, one strawberry for me and one for the tub'...

It's A Fun Job, but...

Celebaby: Suri Not! & Ang' On Quitting HollywoodAnd so the Brangelina band wagon continues to roll and the speculation  and rumour that Angelina's preggars again have been squashed in a recent interview she did with Vanity Fair.

Mother of six (I can't comprehend having that many kids running around the house) Ang' spoke very candidly about the personalities of all her children and, whilst emphatically denying that she was pregnant, didn't rule out having more children...

"I'm not pregnant. We're not opposed to it. But we want to make sure we can give everybody special time," she also went on to  say, "They're kids now, and can play together, but they're going to need a lot more talking in the middle of the night, like I did with my mom for hours. We want to make sure we don't build a family so big that we don't have absolutely enough time to raise them each really well."

Angelina has just finished filming 'The Tourist' in which she plays an Interpol agent also hinted that she might be about to quit Hollywood to spend more time with the fmaily, and had this to say about her acting career...

"It is not the most important thing in my life, it’s a fun job. It’s a luxury, but I don’t think I’ll do it much longer."

And with all those millions of dollars in the bank, I 'd say she doesn't need to.

Celebaby: From Keeping It Real to Unreal!

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 11 February, 2010 at 12:00 pm

In this edition of Celebaby, Jill Scott clearly has her feet firmly on the ground and keeps it real and is the Brangelina Adoption Agency Inc. back in action and on the prowl again?

Jill Scott Tells It Like It Is

Celebaby: From Keeping It Real to Unreal! Just when I thought I couldn't like Jill Scott of No.1 Ladies Detective Agency fame - not to mention American soul and R&B singer AND poet (I reckon she could solve world peace too in her spare time) -  any more than I do already, she goes public with this frank confession on first-time motherhood,

“I’m going to keep it real gully with you, the first two months I wanted to give him back.  I expected someone to come and save me because after you have the baby, nobody cares about you anymore, nobody cares if you sleep, nobody cares if you eat. It’s just you and this all-consuming thingy!”

And she's right!  First-time motherhood is one HUGE culture shock unless you are a born mother-earth type which, let's face it, most of us are not; whilst you are struggling to remember what your name is and where you come from, everyone else looks so composed, calm and capable and it can leave you feeling inadequate, demoralised and downright desperate.

Give that woman a standing ovation for 'keeping it real' and telling it like it is!  By the way, Jill doesn't want to give her son, Jet, back anymore - it all worked out ok in the end, hurrah!

From keeping it real to UNREAL!

I know that celebs do a lot of excellent work for charity and we love them for it, but this whole 'adopt a poor and needy child from Africa, Mozambique, Timbuktu, the far reaches of the outer galaxy (you know they would if they could!) is really beginning to leave an unpleasant taste in the mouth.

Angelina Jolie spent time in Port-au-Prince with her Unicef Amabassadors hat on this week and the Brangelina Adoption Agency Inc. are now reportedly in the market for another victim, sorry, I mean child to add to their collection, SORRY! I mean 'family'.

Celebaby: From Keeping It Real to Unreal! This time it could be a 'lucky' earthquake orphan from Haiti who gets to be hand-plucked from the chaos of their home country and flung into the chaos of the Brad-Ang (and let's not forget Jen in all this) media storm.

To their credit brand 'Brange', supposedly earning a mere $55 million last year, have given $1 million to the Doctors without Borders charity but I have to wonder, why not help MORE children this way and focus on the six children they already have, rather than choosing another one?  If you really have to have a new family addition...get a puppy.  Actually, no, don't do that either.
