It's been one of the biggest adjustments in parenting for me, having to take snacks with us and plan for hungry toddlers. It took a while for me to cotton on, and my daughter was constantly asking friends for their snacks, and I kind of got the message and bought a bunch of supplies for snack, and bowls to put them in.

I did find that they go missing a lot though, so while my first set were quite expensive, I didn't make that mistake the second time round, and this set for just under £6 for six bowls with lids would be just as perfect.

They have a capacity of 250ml so can hold a fair bit, are 100% airtight and can be cold sterilised, though why you would sterilise food bowls for tots is beyond me.

They are BPA free though, so no nasties leaching into your snackpots.

Seriously, Bin Weevils?!! Who on earth decided that Bin Weevils would make GREAT toys for kids and managed to persuade some top toy execs that it was a winning idea?!

I've not come across them before (or if I have, I've managed to erase them from my memory!), I can't say they appeal very much, and I can guarantee that my youngest son probably loves them - I'll have to ask him.

There are  three Bin Weevils up for grabs for a decent price - talking plush ones, for £4.05 instead of £14.99.  Apparently, having asked my good friend Google, the whole Bin Weevil things came about from a short on Nikelodeon (where else!) and spawned an entire culture all of its own.

If your child is harassing you to get a cat, but you really can't give in, then Cherry the Cat might get them off your back...for a little while at least.

Cats have been part of my life since I was five years old, until recently that is. It was so strange not having a furry feline prowling around - SO strange, in fact, that seven months was enough and my husband and I rescued a little black cat from the local cat shelter - we've called him Bagheera and he really is a proper little mini black panther, with a passion for shredding tissues!

Cherry the Cat won't shred tissues, however, she'll just purr and swish her tail when your child strokes her back.  She moves, miaows, blinks her eyes and twitches her ears, and actually sounds rather cuddly and awesome.

I have to say, she looks a little moody and snooty, but then show me a cat who doesn't sometimes!

The complete Lost series 1 - 6 box set is on sale at Amazon for £33.22 for all six seasons. Now, whether the price is a reflection on the general population's opinion of the show or not, I couldn't say, but it is still a fantastic price for the boxset.

• Loose a lot of hours with Lost

Lost is actually the show responsible for me no longer watching series on TV, but waiting for them to come out as boxsets and then watching them all in one go, mainly over the winter months.  My husband and I, along with most of the rest of the Western world, watched the first few episodes, but the cliff hangers and drama of it were driving me crazy, so we decided to stop watching completely till it was available on DVD. Since then have come and gone two pregnancies, and come to stay two children, and we've kind of forgotten about it, but at this price, it may be worth revisiting.

Of course, there's been much ado about the ending, with some loving and some hating it, and - no spoilers please - I haven't a clue what happens, but that's kind of the point of watching it all.

The way this spring/summer is shaping up, this may be a good way to kill a whole bunch of rainy days and nights.
