Amazon are selling the SpongeBob Squarepants Acoustic Junior Guitar for £28 instead of £44.99 which is a 38% saving – and ideal if you want to find out if the “I want to play guitar” phase outlives the finger callouses.
I guess you have to like Spongebob for this to be a gift you’re going to be excited about – either that or a very small slightly strange musician. The Juniour Guitar is half the ‘normal’ size, and this particular one is an official Spongebob product.
It comes complete with a carry bag, a strap, a pitch pipe, plectrum and a spare set of strings. It’s ready to play out the box – with a little tuning, I’d imagine – and is apparently ideal for young children or beginners as it is lightweight and easy to handle.
Boxed the Junior Guitar weighs 1.5kg – half of your average new-born weight, so yes, very light.
A few of the reviewers complained about poor sound quality, and that it broke easily, but others say the opposite, so I reckon this is one of those where you hold on to your receipt, just in case, but if you get a good one, you – and your Spongebob fan – will love it.
