Activequipment Pop-up Skills Football Goal £9.75 @ Tesco Direct

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 25 May, 2013 at 3:00 pm

Activequipment Pop-up Skills Football Goal £9.75 @ Tesco DirectThere's a slight glimmer of sun? Get the kids outside to soak up what vitamin D they can get. Outdoor toys like this Activequipment Pop-up Skills Football Goal could be just the trick. Tesco has reduced the goal from £19.50 to £9.75. That's a saving of 50% (although I am guessing you were able to do the maths on that one!).

This Activequipment pop-up football goal is great for practising your shooting skills. Easy to set-up, the goal pop-ups instantly and is lightweight, easy to carry and store.

The goal is dual sided and can be used either as a regular goal or pushed over and used with the target cover. The Activequipment pop-up skills goal comes complete with storage and carry bag as well as pegs to keep it upright and sturdy.

This is typical of the customer reviews: "Even though the netting is compact it is good quality and my 4yr old can up it up himself. He has not destroyed it yet either!  The goal challenge bit is his favourite and has inspired most adults to have a go too (even a friend shortly after a hip replacement). I bought it for my son to improve his aim and he enjoys the challenge to get the ball through the goal".

Barbie 10 in 1 Jigsaw Puzzle £3.75 @ Tesco Direct

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 25 May, 2013 at 11:30 am

Barbie 10 in 1 Jigsaw Puzzle £3.75 @ Tesco Direct

Tesco Direct have a 10 in 1 Barbie Jigsaw Puzzle on offer at £3.75 instead of £7.50. I'd rather stick needles in my eyes, but for an old bird, she still has an awesome following, probably bigger these days than when I was a child.

Puzzles are supposed to build logic, so if Barbies are what your little one is in to, use what you've got and help develop those skills.

There are ten puzzles in this box, and they're either 20 or 49 pieces so they're nicely stimulating for anyone over about three or four, I'd imagine, which is also the age range they're geared at.

There's no information, sadly, for example as to whether the backs are colour coded for ease or not. Perhaps order a few plastic baggies at the same time, so you can keep them separate.

Happy puzzling, little people.

All Kids Craft And Crayola Half Price @ Wilkinson

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 25 May, 2013 at 8:00 am

All Kids Craft And Crayola Half Price @ WilkinsonGreat time to stock up this Bank holiday weekend on craft supplies for the kids. Help keep them occupied this half term, especially if the weather stays wet and soggy! Wilkinson has a 50% sale on most kids craft and Crayola products.

If you're just after Crayola then try clicking HERE. Pick up some specific projects, like this Crayola Bug Rocks. The marked price is £5.50, and you'll find that when you get to the confirmation page during checkout this has been reduced by half to £2.75.

Not absolutely everything in craft is in the sale. Items like the three drawer craft storage isn't. But you can pick up things like pads of coloured paper for 75p, and the bumper pack of multi coloured craft for £1.25.

There's stacks of other things in the sale, like coloured sticks and glue, and lots of different types of paper and card. An item should have a yellow '50% off' sticker on it if it is in the sale, but not all did when I checked. If they are at the bottom of the page the sticker doesn't appear, so click on an item you want to check. It will say on the product page if there's a reduction on the marked price.

I don't normally like to buy children's shoes online, but there is a nice range of sandals on there. And there's fitting advice on the site as well. I may sit down with my son and go through them to see if there's any he likes, as he hates shoe shops with a passion!

Neat-Oh! Train Depot Play Set £8.02 @ Amazon

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 24 May, 2013 at 7:00 pm

Neat-Oh! Train Depot Play Set £8.02 @ AmazonAmazon have reduced the Neat-Oh! Train Depot Play Set by 46%, bringing the price to £8.02 instead of £14.99. Asda have it for £19.97, so this is half that price.

I think this is such a lovely idea. It's storage with a theme, and it's really cute.

ZipBin® Full Throttle Train Depot Day Tote Playset - the bag's full name - is soft sided, portable and opens to a small village Playmat surrounded by train tracks with the same gauge as all popular wooden trains.

The town borders farm land, includes several buildings, roadways and a construction zone, all in one dimension, and an actual play train.

When play is done, zip up the sides, pick up the toys and pack away, and if you need to, wipe clean with a damp cloth.

BabyStart Ria 3-Wheel Pushcair £39.99 @ Argos

Argos has reduced the piece on the BabyStart Ria 3-Wheeler pushchair from £79.99 to only £39.99. That is a whopping saving on a pushchair that will keep your kid safe and sound until they don’t need to be pushed along anymore.

When it comes to style and comfort, this great value BabyStart Ria is just the ticket. It’s swivel and lock wheels have dual suspension for a smoother journey and it’s shopping basket is perfect to keep all your bits and pieces together while your little one enjoys the ride.

The pushchair is suitable from birth to three years old or children up to 15kgs and it has a two-hand flat fold mechanism for easy transportation. It has multi-recline positions, a fixed seat position, a five-point harness and a handle height of 96cm.

This is a fantastic price on a pushchair. I am amazed. Definitely a deal worth buying if you need a cheap and cheerful solution to baby’s transport needs.

Save up to 40% Off Picnic Tables & Chairs @ Tesco

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 24 May, 2013 at 3:00 pm

Save up to 40% Off Picnic Tables & Chairs @ Tesco

Tesco is slashing 40% off all their picnic tables and chairs until Sunday 2 June! They offer a wide variety of chairs from just £3.60 as well as table from just £12! Delivery will be charged or you can click, order and collect for free from your closest Tesco.

Summer is around the corner and what better way to spend your weekends than out in the sunshine at a picnic? Every child I know LOVES a picnic – partly because of the type of food (lets be honest) but mainly because it means they’re outdoors in the fresh air, free to run around like loons without knocking over Granny’s special vase.

Our friends at Tesco are offering up to 40% off their picnic tables and chairs so you can be comfortable while your kids go mad in the open.  I HATE lugging around 3 chairs and table and picnic basket so I fell in love with their 4-seater folding picnic table and chair combo for just £15 (was £25). It packs away into ONE unit and is a breeze to transport. It’s got a steel frame and ABS plastic table top covers so its light to carry and easy to clean (BIG bonus).

Alternatively check out Tesco’s individual chairs from £3.60 and their aluminium tables from £12. Perfect for camping or caravanning they really do make the outdoors comfortable and pleasant.

Now let’s just pray for some warm weather…

25% Off All LEGO City Toys @ Asda

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 24 May, 2013 at 11:00 am

25% Off All LEGO City Toys @ AsdaALERT! ALERT! Asda have taken 25% off all LEGO City toys - so if you're a LEGO City fan you need to get yourself over there ASAP!

I've written a LOT of LEGO City deals since writing for PlayPennies, and in my head I've built an AWESOME LEGO City.

I've got a harbour with boats, I've got houses, all of the emergency services are covered and the police man keep an eye on the robbers who, occasionally, roam around; I've got forests complete with forest rangers and a wild bear!

There are still a few bits and pieces I don't have though: a LEGO City Garbage Truck (rather necessary for a bustling LEGO City!), a LEGO City Fire Plane - I've got the fire truck and fire station, the fire plane would be a rather awesome addition.

Lucky for my imaginary LEGO City they are both included in this Asda 25% off LEGO City offer; hurrah!

I've just spotted a LEGO City Gold Mine - how awesome would that be to own!  Your very own gold mine!  It would attract tourists to your LEGO City, along with investment too.  Just marvellous.

You can arrange to collect your LEGO City bargains from your local Asda store, or you can part with a couple of extra pounds and have them delivered to your door instead.

Tesco Loves Baby Jersey Cot Bed Sheets (2 Pack) £5.60 @ Tesco

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 24 May, 2013 at 10:00 am

Tesco Loves Baby Jersey Cot Bed Sheets (2 Pack) £5.60 @ TescoTesco are selling packs of two jersey cot bed sheets for £5.60, the original price was £8.

I'm sure you know, by now, that I have a bit of a 'thing' for bedding.  Whether it's my own or my children's, I like there to be lots of sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers all neatly ironed and folded in the airing cupboard.

This comes from having learned, during my parenthood years, that you can never have too many spare sets of bedding ready and waiting to be put on the bed at a moment's notice.

There are few things worse than having a child with wet bed sheets and discovering, when you go to get dry ones, that the few you have are all in the wash.  You'll always get through more than you think you will and sheets, particularly lovely soft jersey ones, can be expensive to accumulate.

Tesco to the RESCUE! This pack of two cosy jersey sheets are machine washable, can be tumble dried and are a natural colour so it doesn't matter if you don't know whether you're buying for a blue or pink arrival (or already arrived!)

All the usual Tesco delivery blurb applies - instore collection is free, standard delivery will cost you an additional £3.

Whack A Mole Mania £7.19 @ Asda

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 24 May, 2013 at 9:00 am

Whack A Mole Mania £7.19 @ AsdaAsda are selling this Whack A Mole Mania game for £7.19 rather than its £14.97 full price.

Whack A Mike Mania is a new spin on the traditional Whack A Mole game - if it's anything like the original mole smacking game, tons of fun is absolutely guaranteed!

Here's what you need to do: grab a mallet and bash the lever at the base of the play set. With every wallop, moles fly out of the molehill and onto the ground, which you then have to catch with your mallet that has special mole-catching powers.

If you're the first player to fill your mallet with moles, causing your 'mallet' mole marker to reach all the way to the top, you WIN!   There are three different levels of play, so you can adapt it to suit the whole family; awesome!

My youngest son Edward would have loved this a couple of years ago; we used to spend hours playing Whack A Mole at the local soft play place when he was smaller.  Aside from all the giggling it produces, it's a fab game for developing hand eye coordination, along with honing your reflex speed too.

Little Tikes Construction Sand Box £40.50 @ Very

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 23 May, 2013 at 7:00 pm

Little Tikes Construction Sand Box £40.50 @ VeryI've never seen this sand box before. I'm always surprised and quite happy when that happens. Working on PlayPennies I normally think I've seen every toy known to man and child. The Little Tikes Construction Sand Box is brilliant! It's also reduced from £70 to £45. The same thing at Amazon is currently £143.26! You can collect+ for free or delivery is £2.95.  If you add the code 3MQQ7 you can take 10% off too, making it just £40.50.

The reviews on this are great and it looks like a really nice, unusual sand box, very different to the normal.

It comes with a lot of fun bits to it too: "We have buried those poor little construction workers more times than I care to count. It is a nice size and the ramp lid is a big plus. My three year old, her twelve year old sister and a friend were all playing with it today and everyone had enough space to have fun digging in the sand. It is nice and deep and still compact enough that we are using it on our three season room. The instructions recommend 100 pounds on sand, but that was a bit too much. We removed some of it and the lid fits better and it is easier to play in without sending half the sand over the sides. Compared to the other options out there I felt this sandbox was a good price, and I think it will continue to get a lot of use."

I love that it comes with a lid, and some digging toys and construction vehicles.

Courier is £5.95 so you may as well pop a few games into your SimplyGames shopping cart while you’re at it and justify the delivery charge.

OK so here’s the run-down on the unit. The new Xbox 360 console itself is smaller – so it’ll fit neatly on the shelf. Its the only console with 802.11n Wi-Fi built in which means you’ll get an unfettered connection to the ever-expanding entertainment possibilities of Xbox LIVE – including a fast and easy way to play games with friends around the world. Vtech Smartphone Panda £7.56 @ Debenhams

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 23 May, 2013 at 11:00 am

Vtech Smartphone Panda £7.56 @ DebenhamsGet yourself over to Debenhams and you'll be able to pick up a Vtech Smartphone Panda for £7.56.

I usually have a lot of respect for Vtech and their toys - in fact, my very first PlayPennies post was a Vtech something or other. I wonder if a Vtech something will be my last too, I write about them often enough, so the chances are good! - but I can't help thinking they've sold their toy souls to the devil with their Smartphone Panda.

Billed as a combination of protective smartphone cover and cuddly friend, the Smartphone Panda is, apparently, the ideal companion for your baby - why on EARTH would you give your smartphone to your baby?

Toddler, I can get - the Doodebuddy app has kept my youngest son amused for many an hour - but BABY?!

The Smartphone Panda also comes with a convenient strap to keep it attached to a pushchair or car seat, and there are six Vtech learning activities (apps to the normal man on the street!) available to download and will teach animals, shapes, body parts and more - because baby's in pushchairs and prams are into that sort of thing.  You can do other things, like create an avatar for your child, make movie clips and take screen shots to show friends and family too.

Smartphone Panda's original price was £15, now he's £8.50, but with discount code CK43, he's yours (if you like this sort of thing) for £7.56 and delivery is free too.

Usborne First English Dictionary £3.99 @ Red House

Usborne First English Dictionary £3.99 @ Red HouseIf you head over to Red House you'll be able to pick up an Usborne First English Dictionary for £3.99, rather than its full list price of £9.99.

I love Usborne books, and I love dictionaries too. I have a bit of a thing for reference books in general, but dictionaries and thesauruses (or is it thesauri?!  Or just thesaurus for singular and plural?!  Perhaps I should look in my dictionary!) really do it for me.

The Usborne First English Dictionary is features pages and pages and pages of lively and funny illustrations that demonstrate the meanings of each word. Those pages contain over 2,500 words and definitions, and suggestions for alternative words too, along with example sentences to show how to use those words in the correct context, and over 700 internet links.

Single item delivery will cost you an additional £2.95, unless something else takes your fancy and your order tips into the £15 free delivery bracket.

Happy looking up words!
