I have two boys - one's almost 17 and the other has just turned five. My nearly 17-year-old left school with his shoes barely intact and he'd only had them for less than a school year.
The sole was almost completely hanging off and he told me he'd been supergluing them back on, as it hardly seemed worth buying a new pair of school shoes for the couple of months he had left.

Sizes nine through 13 cost £6, which goes up to £7 for sizes 1 through 6.
