Playpennies

I moved to a new area almost a year ago, but really only got involved and got to know people around October time. I know four people who had children's birthday parties this weekend and we weren't invited to one. I see these people all the time, sometimes multiple times a week and thought we were friends. I feel really sad. Two parties were in our new town, and I've only known them since October/November so can kind of understand, but the other two were from our old town (2 hrs away) and we weren't even invited. Why do I feel so conflicted about it?
