Skoot Ride On Suitase £19.99 @ Argos

24 July 2013

I am not sure why I think this is a betrayal of the Trunki but something as clever as that could not stay the province of one maker forever. Now you can get the Skoot which is a variation of the original ride-on suitcase and Argos has it on sale for £19.99 instead of the usual retail price of £39.99.

For a funky way to travel kids will love Skoot. This ride-on suitcase offers kids handlebars to hold onto and even a place to rest their feet when they are tired and are being pulled along by mum or dad. That feature is actually one that I have wished for on the Trunki so I’m feeling quite torn here.

The Skoot on sale here is pink, has three inset wheels, has straps to hold in clothes and toys on the inside and has a detachable shoulder strap. The only thing that I am not seeing here is whether or not this will fit as hand luggage which the Trunki definitely can.

Thanks to wishihadadonkey at HUKD!

As a Trunki fan I feel the same way as you but having tipped my son off his Trunki in spectacular fashion several times, I can also see the draw of having handle bars and steering. That said from what it looks like in the reviews I have read online, you basically sacrifice storage space and apparently the space you are left with after allowances for the handle and steering, is laughable. I need every square inch of space in my son's Trunki as we do long haul with him so I'm sticking with Trunki and hoping that he learns to stay on it better and to yell ("look out, mummy" when we come across obstacles unfavarouble to the course of movement of said Trunki :)
