Nursery want to charge extra for Christmas party?
My son only attends nursery two days a week, Monday and Wednesdays. On Wednesday last week they let me know there would be no nursery this week Wednesday, but that he had to go to a totally different venue on Thursday this week for their Christmas party and that I had to pay entrance and for his snack at the party soft play place.
Can they just DO that? I now have to make alternative childcare arrangements for Wednesday, then have to arrange to GET to this place for Thursday, AND pay for the privilege? I don't want to complain, because they already think I'm a scrooge because I haven't written 30+ Christmas cards for the other three year olds in the school.
Am I being unreasonable though?

It does seem short notice to have to arrange alternative childcare but that aside, you do not have to go to the xmas party. It would be lovely for your son to be with his friends in a new enviroment and having fun but the choice is yours. As for the xmas cards try my trick and send in candy canes instead. 99p for 12 in most shops and the children much prefer them to yet more xmas cards. You can personalise them with gift tags if you have time.
Oh my that is short notice! Is it a school nursery or daycare nursery? I really didn't think they were allowed to just shut like that, with such little notice. Also the soft play party seems highly unfair on parents who haven't got a lot of money.
