Celebaby: Bumps And Baby Names

15 November 2012

On Tuesday I told you that Peaches Geldof is expecting her second child already; what I didn't tell you was that this new baby is a little boy and his name has already been chosen.

It's caused quite a stir and a bit of confusion too. His name will be Phaedra - yes, you read that right and whilst you try to work out how to pronounce it, I'll tell you where it comes from.

Phaedra (it's pronounced Fedra, by the way) is a character from Greek mythology and the confusion comes from it being a girls name - Phaedra was the daughter of Minos and Pasiphae and her name means 'bright'.

Bob Geldof, Peaches' dad, admitted to having a tough time getting his head around Astala (the name of his first grandson), I wonder what he thinks about Phaedra!

A week or two ago, we mused over whether Petra Eccleston is preggars.  Well, it seems that she is - fancy that, what a surpirse! - as she was spotted shopping in a baby store in Beverly Hills over the weekend, her 'people' have listed, online, that she's expecting her first child in March 2013 and sister, Tamara, has commissioned a £25,000 playhouse for her new niece or nephew.

This playhouse is, apparently, going to be a replica of the house that Petra lives in - I say 'house', it has 100 rooms...that's going to be one BIG playhouse and one spoiled child!

Rhianna has appeared on the Ellen show declaring that she absolutely, definitely wants to have children one day.  She also said she'd 'do it on her own' without a husband, if she had to:

I would prefer to, you know, have a full family. I’m pretty sure I could handle if I had to on my own but that’s not what I’m striving for.

Rhianna as a mother...at the moment, with her various on-stage antics and 'interesting' t-shirt slogans, the mind just boggles.
