Kids Go Free To Attractions Across Scotland With Kids Go Free @ Scotrail

kidsgofreescotrail

You may or may not know that Scotrail have been running a promo for some time where up to two kids can go free with a paying adult off peak. BUT did you also know that those kids train tickets can be used to get kids into a whole load of attractions across Scotland for FREE? No? Then read on.

But I drive I here you say. Yeah so many people do nowadays but using this sneaky tip, you can still save pounds this summer on family days out. Just let's deal with the actual train travellers first.

So “Kids Go Free” from Scotrail is designed for kids aged 5-15 to travel for free off peak (generally after 9.15 am and evenings and all weekend including school holidays) and up to two kids can travel with one fare paying adult.

If you use this to travel to your chosen attraction, one child will get in for free per paying adult. So if there’s you and your partner, both buy one "Kids Go Free" ticket at the station and enter the attraction with one child each. So you’ve paid for two adults but both kids have got in for free.

If you drive, this can still benefit you and your family. As above buy a “Kids Go Free” ticket at the train station but if you’re not travelling by train, you’re not wanting to shell out any more than you have to. The cheapest fare I can see online is from Glasgow Queen Street to Glasgow High Street. This costs £1.10 and your child will get into your chosen attraction for free. You may know of a cheaper route, this is just an example of a "Kids Go Free" ticket you could buy at your local station before setting off.

Edinburgh Zoo for example costs £12 per child, while Deep Sea World Costs £9.50, so if you can get each child in for just £1.10 using the Scotrail trick above, there’s tidy savings to be made.

Under 3’s get into most of these attractions for free but double check that with your chosen venue.

So there you have it, what do you think?
