Nakd Flavour Infused Raisins Reviews

20 July 2013

I adore the Nakd pressed fruit bars. They taste like a real treat. Nakd has released a range of flavour infused raisins, so I thought I'd give them a try. Particularly as these little packets of raisins are aimed at the packed lunch market. The Nakd raisins (45p per packet) come with a burst of flavour, ranging from zingy lime to fizzy cola and sweet juicy cherry. Nakd are marketing the raisins as an alternative to sweets as they're made with all natural flavours and ingredients.

I tried out three flavours from the range - cherry, pineapple and orange. To my mind, raisins already have a fairly strong flavour, so I wasn't sure they would work. Also, I didn't know that we really needed a way to entice children to eat raisins. Most kids I know love eating raisins.

My opinion didn't change with the Cherry flavoured raisins. These were OK. They do taste just like cherries, but there's a not quite so pleasant, chemical-ly aftertaste. I gave some to other people to see what they thought, and most of them commented on this. However, most also said that cherry wasn't one of their favourite flavours.

I'm not a big fan of orange flavours either, but actually as it happens, I loved the orange flavoured raisins. Orange goes surprisingly well with raisin, and it tasted really juicy too. The pineapple raisins were very ... interesting. I don't know why, maybe it is the raisin, but they tasted almost alcoholic! A sort of snack version of a pina colada. I'll be buying the orange raisins again, and would like to try the other flavours. But the cherry is definitely not for me.
