ChillFactor Squeeze Cup Slushy Maker Review
Last week I got a little bit of kitchen kit that thoroughly excited me. It's the ChillFactor Squeeze Cup Slushy Maker*(£15.99) and I can see it being massively in demand this summer.
The ChillFactor Squeeze Cup Slushy Maker is exactly what it sounds like. It's a cup shaped silicon mould that you pour liquid into and squeeze for a minute or two, depending on the contents. From there, you eat, drink or tip it out into a bowl and enjoy a frozen treat. It's so simple, and so easy even a child can - and in our house, does - do it.
The Slushy Maker comes in five parts - the cup, the bit inside the cup that is frozen before use, and the lid and dome and then the spoon - slash - straw for eating and drinking with.
When you open the box, you'll find it all ready assembled. We gave it a rinse, then consulted the instructions on how to put it all back together. Then we popped it in the freezer for four hours. Once it was frozen, I took chilled orange juice from the fridge and poured it in. About thirty seconds later, out came a slushy for the little ones to enjoy - no sugar, no preservatives, just 'ice cream' (they're young enough that I can get away with that!)
After we'd washed it, I just popped it back in the fridge so it would be ready for the next round. Right now I have a cup of forgotten coffee chilling in the fridge so I can pop that in the slushy maker in a couple of hours and see how that works.
I'm so excited about the possibilities of this for the summer. My kids are going to love the versatile options.
I wish they made a bigger size so we could have a family sized treat, but either way, I'll have to buy a second one for my other daughter soon!
