Things To Do With Outgrown Clothes

dressPencilCaseMy daughter is 15 now; when she was small she had a couple of absolutely STUNNING little summer dresses and a pair of short, white denim dungarees that had the most delicate little pink tulips printed on them.

We both ADORED these clothes; so much so, in fact, that I bought them in as many sizes as I could so we didn't have to part with them too soon.

But the day came when all sizes had been outgrown and it was a very sad day indeed *sigh*

(I still have the little dresses tucked away in a suitcase, I just couldn't bring myself to part with them)

Equally, my daughter was rather distraught, "I don't want to get rid of them!!!" were words frequently wailed.

If you're faced with similar, be more smart than me - turn the beloved clothes into something else so the parting becomes less 'sweet sorrow' (or just plain scary tantrum inducing) and more of a metamorphosis.

There are lots of things you can do - blankets from jumpers, make bigger clothes from smaller ones - like a patchwork dress perhaps from all favourite dresses - OR a pencil case, just like this rather fabulous one I stumbled across this morning.

Full instructions are there, along with pictures, if you fancy giving it a bash.

Not only will it keep your kids happy, it's good for the whole recycling ego too.
