Before I start waxing lyrical about National Geographic and the National Geographic Kids Magazine, I must tell you this:

Although there is a discount code above, from messing around with the NG wesbite, it looks like you don't actually need it - but I've included it anyway, just in case you run into any bother.

On the front page it says 'Save 25% and get 12 issues for £28'. So you click the subscription bit and there's a box to enter your promotion code; you enter it, nothing happens, you enter it again, STILL nothing happens!

No matter, just underneath that is a radio button, already checked, for 12 issues priced at £19.99.  I don't know what's going on with that - I just know that that's the price you want to pay, so it's all good!

Right, National Geographic Kids Magazine; STUNNING!

That's the only word that even begins to do it justice.

The photographs are just amazing, the educational value is fantastic - it's packed full of animal, and environmental, facts, figures and information. There are also activities to do and instructions for things to make, like frog hotels or hedgehog hideaways!

Did you know that a sheep, a duck and a rooster were the first passengers in a hot air balloon?

No neither did I but we do now, thanks to the National Geographic Kids Magazine!

This would make a lovely Christmas present, for any young animal fan, which will last an entire year (the first issue is January 2011).

Thanks to lesleystrawson over at HUKD!

Hi Janet, welcome to PlayPennies! Have you tried posting your request on a site like Mumsnet? I've done similar over there in the past and been really surprised by the supportive response.

I've just used the link and done a subscription for my son. I phoned up at the beginning of January to find out the price and it was £24.99 as I'd subscribed before. Hope it does come or I'll have an upset son too! I think they are still doing the magazine as I saw it for sale last week in Sainsbury's
