Baby present for older sibling?

Me again. I've heard some people say they buy a present for the older child from the new baby. What do you think of that? And what kind of present?

nothing too extravagant I don't think but something they really really want and that can be quite special.

I bought my 2 year old (nearly 3) a kidizoom camera from my newborn son. We wrapped it up and gave her it when we brought my son home so she could enjoy taking pictures of her new baby brother and she still loves taking photos. :-)

Depends on the older childs age. We bought our first-born a toy baby so he could copy us.

ya I always do whether it's my own children or someone elses. When it was my own children I got the older siblings a doll or a big toy. With other people's kids I always buy them the book One Too Many Tigers - it says it all :)
