Family Of 4, 2 Days Legoland, 1 Night Stay Hilton £131

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 16 May, 2012 at 6:00 pm

Family Of 4, 2 Days Legoland, 1 Night Stay Hilton £131

Right, so, if you fancy doing something a little bit fun and different over the next few weeks, then this deal should really make you happy. If you book for a family of four to go to Legoland and you stay one night at the Hilton in Basingstoke, you pay £131 in total which is a whopping saving.

To find the deal what you need to do is go with the large blue welcome box that has 1 Day + 1 Day Free on it, choose your date and how many family members are going, and then select Search Hotels. You will then be given a range of options at a range of prices.

The hotel prices vary from place to place and the Hilton Basingstoke does have a few days where it doesn’t have any spaces, but there is enough variety to net you a really good deal regardless. The one day free deal with Legoland certainly helps and you can book quite far in advance.

Sizzlin’ Cool Meadow Cottage £49.99 @ Toys R Us

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 16 May, 2012 at 4:00 pm

Sizzlin’ Cool Meadow Cottage £49.99 @ Toys R Us

Toys R Us have reduced the price on this truly awesome outdoor toy by half. Originally on sale for £99.99, this Sizzlin’ Cool Meadow Cottage is down to £49.99. A great saving on a very pretty little outdoor fun house.

The recommended age for the Sizzlin’ Cool Meadow Cottage (is it just me who thinks the name is a contradiction in terms?) is two years and up and you will have to spend another 1p to get free delivery which I think is extremely annoying.

This brightly coloured playhouse has a working front door that’s a half split and windows on either side. There is nothing inside the house so you’d have to furnish it yourself, and it does need self assembly when it is delivered flat placked.

The play house is dominant yellow in colour with green and red trim and a red roof, and it looks fairly robust if extremely plasticky. A good save off the original price though.

Vilac Pocket Kite £4.79 @ Amazon

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 16 May, 2012 at 3:00 pm

Vilac Pocket Kite £4.79 @ Amazon

The price of the Vilac Pocket Kite is not a huge discount off the original, but it is enough to make it a tasty saving and a low price deal. Originally it was on sale for £5.99 but you are saving £1.20 off this price and getting free delivery too.

The Vilac Pocket Kite is small enough to fit, clearly from the name, in your pocket and it can be taken out and instantly flown in the air in seconds. It offers plenty of spontaneous kiting fun so you will never again hit the beach/park/open space and go, “Darn, we should have brought the kite…”

The Vilac Pocket Kite is vibrantly coloured and looks fabulous, there are plenty of bows and bobs on the streamer that flies out behind it and it looks a bit like a flying tent really. It is pretty detailed and the concept is great, not bad for under £5 at all.

Red Kite Zoo Walker £15 @ ASDA

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 15 May, 2012 at 6:00 pm

Red Kite Zoo Walker £15 @ ASDA

ASDA has reduced the price on the Red Kite Zoo Walker to £15 as a part of the ASDA Baby Event. It can be collected instore if you don’t want to pay for the delivery charges which are, I find, rather high.

The Red Kite Zoo Walker is brightly coloured and perfect for little feet. It has an activity bar with interactive toys that offer hours of fun for busy little hands and give parents a chance to breeeeathe. The activity bar can also be removed so you can use the tray to feed them or to do other activities together.

The walker itself has three adjustable heights and comes with a stop and go base for extra security, particularly helpful if you have a speedy and inquisitive child. The deep padded seat adds extra comfort and the entire kit is suitable for children aged six months to 12 kgs. Looks good for the price I think!

Baby Wipes Only £1 @ ASDA

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 15 May, 2012 at 4:00 pm

Baby Wipes Only £1 @ ASDA

This is a fabulous deal for parents who need to stock up on cheap baby wipes. ASDA is selling a wide range of baby wipes for only £1 per packet. How very kind of them…

The low cost baby wipes that are on sale for £1 at ASDA are for only two brands – Huggies and Pampers. In the Huggies corner we have the Huggies Soft Skin range which are enriched with Shea Butter and on sale for £1. There is also the Huggies Natural Care wipes which are enriched with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E for £1.

And finally, in the Huggies arena, there are the Huggies Pure Wipes which are perfect for newborns and are both alcohol and perfume free. I really rate those actually, even if they are tough to get out of the packet.

The Pampers discount baby wipes are the Pampers Sensitive and the Pampers Baby Wipes. The latter are made with pure water and the former are all about pH and gentle cleansing. All at a very tasty £1.

Kids Freebie: Fab Activity Packs @ Fanta

Kids Freebie: Fab Activity Packs @ Fanta

Yeah, this is not an optical illusion, this is the new Fanta website that comes with all sorts of cool freebies and extras for kids, like their Fanta Fun Packs. These Fanta Fun Packs were created with Linda Barker so that kids and parents can make fun things together and stay entertained.

These free Fanta Fun Packs are a pretty good idea considering that the weather is about to get nasty again. Yes, those two days of sun were IT my friends! So, without further ado why not peek at the free recipes and crafts on the site so you don’t go mad in the rain.

You can whip up a scrummy banana cupcake recipe (yum) or you can get to grips with learning how to stencil with step-by-step instructions. You can either download and print these, or you can follow them onscreen. From toiletry bag ideas to designing a funky t-shirt or learning how to create your own pouffe, everything you need is in there.

What a lovely freebie for the kids!

Playmobile 5873 Fairytale Castle £13.99 @ Argos

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 14 May, 2012 at 6:00 pm

Playmobile 5873 Fairytale Castle £13.99 @ Argos

This is such a good deal that I’m struggling not to buy it. Seriously. This is an ideal addition to the Present Cupboard as it is a huge toy with loads of extras that has been reduced to well over 50% of the original price. It used to sell for £39.99 but Argos have it at £13.99 and you can arrange to collect it instore for free.

The Playmobil Fairytale Castle comes with three multicoloured unicorns which are there to be cared for by the fairy queen and princess. These two figures are also included in the set along with a bunch of cool accessories too.

The set is apparently good for helping to develop your child’s motor skills, helps with their social and emotional development, improves their hand-eye co-ordination and encourages creativity. I think that this reduced price is utterly fantastic but have to confess to finding the Playmobil toys silly small and always prone to appearing under bare feet.

Reebok Womens Easytone Trainers Review

Reebok Womens Easytone Trainers Review

I recently got a pair of Reebok Womens Easytone Reeinspire 2 trainers from M&M Direct as I’ve been desperate to try these shoes for ages. Loads of people have raved about how well they have worked, and just as many people have said they are a marketing scam. So which is it?

Honestly, after wearing the Reebok Easytone trainers for the past three weeks I don’t care. They are so comfortable. They are like memory foam pillows for feet. They are both soft and firm, sturdy and supportive and utterly and completely, well, comfortable.

On my first wearing, the shoes did leave my big toes feeling a little odd, almost as if they had pins and needles. It was an odd sensation but didn’t last beyond the first few days of wearing the shoes in. These shoes are built to help you get a better butt and legs and for every day walking and use.

The Reebok Easytone trainers are also very subtle in their colouring. Instead of the pink looking as vivid and startling as it does in this picture, it actually is rather easy on the eye. These shoes match pretty much every walking outfit I have and the various features built in – like the anti bacterial and fungal growth material – make them very lush to own. Every had a pair of cheap and nasty trainers start smelling? Yeah, these won’t.

One other thing worth noting about the Reebok Easytone Trainers is that the laces are good quality and don’t undo after every step. Add to this the comfort and the lovely low price at M&M Direct (they have it on offer for £39.99 instead of £74.99 so you save about £35) and you have a pair of very nice trainers in your cupboard.

Do they make your bum and legs thin and sexy? I honestly couldn’t see anything dramatic but they are worth the price for the comfort and style alone.

25% Off And Free Delivery @ Café Press

25% Off And Free Delivery @ Café Press

Café Press are currently offering 25% off your order as well as free delivery using the voucher code below. You can choose from a huge range of items that can be personalised and styled to your personal choices and this code means you pay a lot less than usual.

I recently ordered some cool Star Trek goodies from Café Press (yes, I am a total geek) and I have to admit that they weren’t as cool as I had hoped they would be. However, their iPhone covers and mugs and other similar items with themed imagery look really good and may make this voucher code worth your while.

To get the 25% discount and free delivery at Café Press just enter the code ROSE at checkout. I think that it is great you can personalise items but have to admit that it is risky considering how crap ours were. The writing was tiny and the fabric very poor.

Amazon has dropped the price of the book Goodbye Pert Breasts from something to, well, nothing! Yes, you can download this extremely funny and clever look at parenthood from the perspective of a man without paying a single red cent. Wahoo!

Yes, in case you hadn’t already guessed, this free book is a Kindle download. Written by Ben Wakeling, the book is the diary of a newborn dad and should have most of us cackling in agreement and sympathy.

Ben Wakeling is a very funny author and the book has had plenty of good reviews from the likes of Prima Baby, Pregnancy & Birth, and plenty more. He is a husband and father who lives in Warwickshire and his views on being a parent are delightful, and don’t pull any punches either.

Fans of his blog and his writing will appreciate this fab freebie so get on there and get downloading!

Family Freebie: Save On Train Tickets With Tickety Split

by Tamsin Oxford in Freebies on 13 May, 2012 at 3:00 pm

Family Freebie: Save On Train Tickets With Tickety Split

This is an excellent freebie that saves you money over the long term. You can download this free app called Tickety Split from iTunes and then this free app will look at all the options on your train route and see where you can save money.

It can take absolute ages to find cheap train fares if you do it manually. I’ve spent hours trying to sort out the cheapest fares as the train websites are, well, just awful. This app takes the pain away for you by checking all of the available options on your route and showing you the cheapest ones around.

The free app uncovers hidden ticket combinations and saves you loads and it is entirely legal. You download the app onto your iPhone and tell it your journey. This first version only shows you tickets available today, not returns or advance bookings. It isn’t infallible but it could save you some lovely cash.

The ecards will only be sent to accurate and genuine email addresses and it must be used in transactions over £30. Considering how expensive Mamas & Papas are, that last condition shouldn’t be too hard to fulfil!

Fisher-Price Ride On Truck/Princess £10 @ Tesco

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 11 May, 2012 at 6:00 pm

Fisher-Price Ride On Truck/Princess £10 @ Tesco

The usual price of the Fisher-Price ride on toys is around £21.99 (at least that’s what it is selling for on Amazon right now) and it has been reduced from that price to £15 and now to only £10 at Tesco right now. What a lovely bargain.

The Fisher-Price ride on options available to you with this deal include both the fire truck themed dude and the princess ride on. The Fisher-Price Little People fire truck ride on comes with buttons that make realistic rescue sounds and flashing lights that whirl as the music plays.

The princess Fisher-Price ride on also has buttons but these make enchanted princess sounds (huh?) and play a magical tune as the lights flash on the pretty pink crown.

Both Fisher-Price Little People ride on toys come with easy grip handlebars and under-seat storage – for those all important toys that must come with on those long journeys about the house. The toys are suitable for kids aged 1-3 years and you can arrange to collect them instore.

Pampers Active Fit Jumbo Packs 2 For £20 @ ASDA

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 11 May, 2012 at 4:00 pm

Pampers Active Fit Jumbo Packs 2 For £20 @ ASDA

At the moment there are a few different Pampers deals on at ASDA and they seem to change on a regular basis. This particular deal is available online, although you can get some different deals instore, and gets you two boxes of Pampers Active Fit with 84 nappies per box at £20. The usual price for one is £12 so you are saving £4.

This deal drops the price on a ton of nappies quite nicely, and it means you can stock up for ages so you don’t run out at an awkward moment. Although, I always ran out when I really shouldn’t have! Typical.

The nappies and wipes on the link above are all at fairly normal prices but stay tuned because sometimes they have an offer on the site but add the disclaimer that they will change your basket price to match the instore price. This can work both ways but it is worth keeping an eye on.

Water Cannon Tripod With Shooter £22.49 @ Menkind

Water Cannon Tripod With Shooter £22.49 @ Menkind

This deal is for a large garden water cannon that will make outdoor fun just that little bit crazier and messier. While we are all fairly sick of rain and getting drizzled on, this is a hopeful deal – a deal that hopes we get a long enough spell of hot, dry weather to enjoy playing around outside. Down to £24.99 on the site, you get an extra discount and free delivery using the code below.

If you would like to drop the price of the water cannon, then use the code MENKINDPP to get it down to £22.49. This is the ultimate water cannon (or so they say) as it is mains fed for relentless super soaking. In short, this promises lots of fun.

The water cannon comes with a tripod which you can then use to manage your aim more accurately, and it connects to the hose for unlimited water. There isn’t a lot of information about it, but you can check out the video to see how well it works.

Flip Top Flasks Themed £1.99 @ The Works

Flip Top Flasks Themed £1.99 @ The Works

These flip top flasks from The Works have all been reduced to £1.99 and this includes free delivery thanks to the code below. You can choose from a range of different themes and they all look rather fabby for this price.

The flip top flasks come in the following flavours: Spongebob SquarePants, Disney Princess, Disney Cars, Dora the Explorer, and Minnie Mouse. Each flask costs £1.99 and the code to get free delivery is DELIVERY15 which is still working just fine as of right now.

These flip top flasks are utterly brilliant, if I do say so myself. The themed pattern is around the entire flask and it comes with a handy carry strap as well as a lid that can click shut to hold the juice/water/whatever.

Brilliant for taking on camping holidays, walks, trips or pretty much anything else (except planes), these flasks will always come in handy. If you buy three at this price you only pay £5.97, not bad at all!
