Celebaby: Spotted!

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 3 July, 2010 at 11:00 am

With summer comes sporting events and parties and the opportunites to 'pap' celebrities and their offspring abound - we have a few for you in today's Celebaby.

Spotted!

Celebaby: Spotted!David and Brooklyn Beckham

There must be something in the celebrity water that these kids are being given because they all seem to be growing up overnight! How is Brooklyn Beckham 11 years old already?!

He was spotted coming in to Heathrow with dad, David Beckham, yesterday en route to watch Andy Murray play at Wimbledon and was more than happy to be photographed holding his dad's hand as they walked through Arrivals - I think I would be too if I was 11 years old and had to face the 'Paps'!

The Stefani-Rossdale Gang

Celebaby: Spotted!Gwen, Gav, Kingston and Zuma were spotted making their way to a birthday party late last month (well it IS only the 3 July).

Gavin carried the ENORMOUS gift - I wonder what was in it? -  whilst Gwen carried Zuma as young Kingston (4) strolled alongside.

I have to say I really like Gwen's hair down in this photograph, it's much softer than her usual harsh scraped back up-do,  and she looks rather stunning in that dress too - very boho and summer chic.

Denise Van Outen and Betsy

Celebaby: Spotted!I wonder if you get used to being photographed every time you step out of your front door? I've just gone outside to hang up balloons for my youngest as it's his fourth birthday today and, lucky for me, there wasn't an army of 'togs outside my front gates and photographs of me looking less than glam' aren't going to be appearing in the papers tomorrow!

But if I was DVO then this would most certainly be the case - she was spotted going out for a stoll with Betsy yesterday.

She's quite often spotted out and about pushing the pram and all this regular walking is said to be part of her 'secret' to looking so fab, even during the early months of motherhood - if you've  been there, you'll know exactly how gruelling they can be!

One can only 'hope' she's got some serious bags behind those sunglasses otherwise it's just NOT fair!

White Pine Crib £29.50 @ John Lewis

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 3 July, 2010 at 10:00 am

White Pine Crib £29.50 @ John LewisThis crib from John Lewis is a rather delicious deal to start the day with!

Not everyone wants to have a moses basket - I have a couple of friends who really couldn't stand them, they didn't like all the 'frills and faff'.

But if you don't want a moses basket and the thought of putting your tiny baby down to sleep in a HUGE cot bed from day one what are your other options?

This John Lewis Max Crib could be just the thing you're looking for! Measuring L93 x W47 x H79cm it's little enough not to to be too enormous for a newborn and big enough for them not to grow out of it in the blink of an eye.

Made of pine and painted white (the end panels are MDF), the design is simple and elegant and utterly perfect if you don't like 'frills and faff', and John Lewis have reduced it from £59.00 down to £29.50 so the price is pretty perfect too!

Standard delivery is £3, free if you arrange to collect from a John Lewis store OR if your order is over £30.  So you can either buy a mattress for your crib too to tip your order into the free delivery bracket or order something little - Zobobump over at HUKD suggested adding John Lewis Value White Tealights, Pack of 50 (Product code - 78781021), now that's PlayPennies thinking!

Thanks to Zobobump over at HUKD for spotting this deal

Little Tikes Junior Activity Gym £34.97 @ TescoDirect

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 3 July, 2010 at 8:00 am

Little Tikes Junior Activity Gym £34.97 @ TescoDirectWell today seems to be the day for big bargains - this Little Tikes Junior Activity Gym is an absolute steal!

It's bright and colourful, it's made of plastic and is everything I usually try to avoid having in my garden as I'm more of a wooden toy person you see.

BUT, there's something about Little Tikes things that make me happy to break the 'classical wooden look rule' - I think it's because you can absolutely guarantee that things like this Little Tikes Junior Activity Gym, and the little car that is synonomous with the brand, are going to be a HUGE hit with the kids.

And I can guarantee that the price of this deal is going to be a HUGE hit with you too - Tesco Direct have reduced it down from £89.97 to just £34.97!! Please, don't hang around on this one as I'm sure it's not going to stay in stock for very long.

This junior activity gym is great for kids aged one year and over. They can slide, climb, crawl in and out and play peek-a-boo through the holes.  It's compact too (W79cm x H79cm x D128cm) so you can bring it indoors during the winter months, but let's not mention that horrible W word on such a beautiful sunny day!

Standard next day delivery is £5 or you can arrange to collect instore for freeeee.

Review: Straight And Sleek With Sassoon

by Sarah Macdonald in Reviews on 2 July, 2010 at 1:00 pm

Review: Straight And Sleek With SassoonHair! The cause of many a depressed day when it refuses to do as it's told; the cause of many a feel-like-a-film-star moment when it all goes right.

Unless you are blessed with wash-and -go hair, like my teenage daughter, then you're going to need a little bit of extra help and lucky for us mere hair-mortals, those wonderful experts as Sassoon are continually developing products to make our lives and untamed locks a little easier to deal with.

When we casually mentioned to our panel of PlayPennies mums that we had a set of Sassoon Rapid Results ceramic hair straighteners to be reviewed, we were almost trampled in the mad rush to grab them out of our hands.

Review: Straight And Sleek With SassoonNow, I hate to shatter any illusions you might have been harbouring, but for those of you who've never met me (and that's everyone bar two of you, I think) and don't know what I look like, I have to tell you that I don't wake up with my hair all sleek, shiny and wonderful; sad, but true and it's worse if I leave my hair to dry naturally - just think Wild Woman of Borneo or Diana Ross a'la the 1970s.

I was intrigued to see how our mums, Katrina and Helanie, got on with the Sasson Rapid Results straighteners as I'm a bit of  a straightener-snob and connoiseur and swear by my GHDs. But they cost me an arm and a leg whereas the Sasson ones are a snip at £19.99 - what if they are just as good...?

Helanie won the toss to review the straighteners first and then she handed them over to Katrina - here's what they had to say...

Review: Straight And Sleek With Sassoon"With two toddlers and a busy life I don't have time to spend ages messing around trying to force my hair into straight submission, so most often just put it up in a ponytail and get on with my day," Helanie told us, "I'm also reluctant to spend a lot of money on much more expensive irons, because if they dont' live up the promises, then what?"

Katrina agreed, "With money becoming an increasingly precious commodity I need to try and find a balance between cost-effective and not ending up with lots of cheap things that don't do what I need them to."

The Sassoon straighteners have one inch ceramic coated plates that heat up to 210ºc in about 30 seconds; they also generate Infra Red heat which penetrates the hair follicles and warms your hair through from the inside out rather than roasting it from the outside in!

According to the bods at Sasson, 'the hair is relaxed at these lower temperatures, allowing it to be easily managed and styled' - which is great because that's all we ask for.

"I loved the look and the feel of these straighteners," commented Helanie, "they feel nicely balanced when you hold them and the ceramic plates slid nicely over my hair and left each section super-smooth. There was also no need to go over and over the same section either."

Katrina has shorter finer hair, "People often assume that hair straighteners are just for people with long hair, but us shorter and more spikey-style people need help too.  My hair's quite fine too so I don't always need massive amounts of heat, which is why I got quite so excited about the variable temperature function that these Sassoon Rapid Results straighteners have!"

She's right, I must confess that when I think of straighteners I think long, thick hair that's got a mind of its own and needs nothing short of inferno-like temperatures to control it.

Katrina went on to say, "They worked brilliantly for me! I loved the slim design as some bigger designs can make it quite tricky if you've got short hair. The variable temperature settings more than lived up to my expectations - I'm very happy with them!"

Review: Straight And Sleek With SassoonThe variable temperature bit is quite a revelation to me - I grew up with the old-skool monster straighteners from ancient times gone by, and it never occured that for the times when I just need a quick 're-straighten', rather than full-blown taming, it would be kinder to my hair if I could just turn the temperature down a bit; very clever indeed!

So based on performance and price, would Helanie and Katrina recommend the Sassoon Rapid Results straighteners to other people?

"I'd absolutely recommend these straighteners to other people! For £19.99 you just can't go wrong!" gushed Helanie.

"At last, sensibly-priced straighteners that do exactly what they promise to do and are easy to use if you've got short hair too - perfect, I love them!" enthused Katrina.

And finally...

As we leave Katrina and Helanie to play tug-of-war over the Sassoon Rapid Results ceramic hair straighteners, I think we can safely say that you won't go wrong if you buy a set for yourself.

£19.99 for super-sleek and supermodel hair in super-fast time...?  We LIKE the sound of that! And if you do too, then you can buy them from Sainsburys or our good friends Amazon

Shrek Trilogy DVD £7.99 @ TescoEntertainment

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 2 July, 2010 at 12:00 pm

Shrek Trilogy DVD £7.99 @ TescoEntertainmentI'm a big Shrek fan, the Teenagers are big Shrek fans and the youngest is a big Shrek fan.

With a glittering cast, fabulous animation and very clever storylines the Shrek franchise couldn't fail really. Every character has a very strong identity, everyone has a favourite and who can fail not to say 'ahhh!!!' when Puss in Boots turns on the charm with those big round eyes and pleading face...right before he ATTACKS!

The sounds tracks that accompany the movies are fantastic too, combine this with scripts that work on both child-friendly and grown up levels these really are perfect movies for all the family.

If you're like me then this deal is a great one - I've got the original Shrek movie on, wait for it....a VHS video tape, I don't even own a video tape recorder any more so that's pretty useless! I think I've got Shrek II on DVD somewhere but it could be lost forever in the dark and scary depths of a teenage bedroom and I haven't seen Shrek the Third.

So to be able to grab all of this Shrek Trilogy for just £7.99 is great. There is a 15% discount code that can be used with Tesco Entertainment if you haven't used it before - FTSL15-1 - which will drop the price down to £6.80.

There's no delivery to pay and don't forget you'll get clubacard points with this purchase too.

Celebaby: Lily 'I'm not too young' and Shiloh Goes Flying

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 2 July, 2010 at 11:00 am

In Celebaby today - Lily Allen talks having a family (again) and Shiloh Pitt is in the cockpit.

"I'm not too young"

Celebaby: Lily 'I'm not too young' and Shiloh Goes FlyingAt the ripe-young age of 25, Lily Allen has declared she is retiring for five years so she can concentrate on other 'more important things' like...having children.

"I don’t think I’m that young to have a baby. My mother had me when she was 23," she comments, "it’s difficult as a woman who wants a family. Kids take up your whole life, particularly in the first two or three years." Yeah, erm Lily...try the first 16, at least!

Lily gives one of the big reasons for wanting a family as giving her something ‘more solid, something that exists, that makes me feel more grounded’. Well having kids certainly brings you down to earth with bump, but I'm not sure if that's the kind of 'grounding' she's after!

Shame, when did I get to be such a killjoy? Oh yes, when I stepped foot into the land that's on the reality side of the fence. Get a puppy, they're solid, exist and clearing up after them will make you feel grounded too!

As to whether someone is too young or not, well that's a debate that will r a g e until the end of time, but 25?  Too young? I suppose it all depends on the person...

Shiloh Pitt In the Cockpit

Celebaby: Lily 'I'm not too young' and Shiloh Goes FlyingOk, so I made that up.  She wasn't in the cockpit, she WAS in the backseat though whilst Angelina had a flying lesson but I couldn't get backseat to rhyme with Pitt!

Angelina has had her pilot's licence since 2005 - I wonder if you get a provisional licence first the same way you do with your driving licence and then have lesson..? - and has, apparently, already promised Shiloh lessons of her own. Is there a minimum age for flying planes...? So many questions, I think I might just have to ask my very good friend Google...hang on.

Right! So, you can fly at 14 but you're not allowed to fly solo until you're 16. To get your pilot's licence here in the UK, you must have stacked up 45 hours flying time and 10 of those must be solo; you're not allowed to have anyone else in the plane other than an instructor until your licence has been granted - every day's a school day and all that!

Well, on the back of that little bit of research it looks as though young Shiloh is going to have to wait a while longer before she can really be Shiloh Pitt in the cockpit!

12 Collins Big Cat Collection Books £7.99 @ The Book People

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 2 July, 2010 at 10:00 am

12 Collins Big Cat Collection Books £7.99 @ The Book PeopleYippeeee! New reading books for kids.

Harper Collins have teamed up with Collins and a group of top authors to produce these new 'Big Cat' reading books especially for kids aged between four and seven.

This is such an important reading age and encouraging your child to have a love of books is one of the most valuable gifts you can give them, in my opinion.

Reading is something you can do alone or share with someone else, it fires the imagination, can transport you to new worlds and take you on amazing adventures.

Each book is labelled with a reading ability so you can choose the right stories for your child's current reading level. The 12 titles are a selection of both fiction and non-fiction books and there are teaching notes in the back of each so you can help and encourage your little book worm and be consisten with the literacy lessons they're taking part in at school.

The rrp for these books is £33 however, The Book People are offering them to you for £7.99 - now, I've just run this through the checkout process and even though the standard delivery is quoted as being £3.95 it's showing up in my basket as £1.95 for single item delivery.

In the Night Garden Fleece £3.50 @ Tesco Direct

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 2 July, 2010 at 8:00 am

In the Night Garden Fleece £3.50 @ Tesco DirectIt's cloudy and chilly in my little part of the world this morning, so kicking off this PlayPennies Friday with an In the Night Garden fleece blanket seems more than appropriate.

What did we do in a world before fleece?! When I was a kid there was no such thing as pulling on a fleece jumper on a cool summer evening, there was no such thing as curling up under a fleece blanket on the sofa and feeling instantly warm!

It was heavy blankets and thick woollen jumpers all the way; not such a big deal when you're not the one who has to wash and dry them, they took up a lot of space in the washing machine and an inordinate amount of time to dry.

It's no wonder we all took anything made of fleece to our hearts - it's light, doesn't take up a lot of room, it's warm and cosy, easy to wash and comes out of the washing machine almost as dry as it was when it went in.

In the Night Garden Fleece £3.50 @ Tesco DirectThis In the Night Garden fleece is brightly coloured, features Iggle Piggle, is washable up to 40 degrees and Tesco have reduced it down from £7 to £3.50 - collect it for free from your local store and save  yourself the enormous £5 delivery charge.

In the Night Garden Floor Puzzle £3.00 @ Debenhams

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 1 July, 2010 at 7:00 pm

In the Night Garden Floor Puzzle £3.00 @ DebenhamsPuzzles...I love them.

Kids love them too and Debenhams clearly love us all SO much they've reduced this In The Night Garden Floor Puzzle down to £3 from £5 and with the code I'll give you at the end, you can have it delivered for freeeeee too; yippeeee.

I haven't done a puzzle for years - in fact, all this writing about them makes me hanker after getting one to do - there's something very satisfying about soting out all the corners and then sorting out the edges from the middle bits.

Next comes carefully studying the box and matching which outside bits and corners go where and THEN the juicy bit...working out the rest. The feeling of triumph and satisfaction when you fit that final piece in and complete the picture is quite something.

Puzzles are great for kids as it develops all sorts of things - the fine motor skills involved in picking up and fitting the pieces together, the logical process required to sort everything out and pattern recognition in replicating the picture on the box.

In the Night Garden Floor Puzzle £3.00 @ DebenhamsBEST of all...there are no flashing lights, bells, whistles, squeaky noises and they don't require batteries; brill!

This In The Night Garden Floor Puzzle is suitable for all Iggle Piggle and Upsey Daisy fans who are three years or older and don't forget to add this code at the checkout for your free delivery - SHD1.

The Gruffalo: Fun Pockets £2.49 @ Play

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 1 July, 2010 at 6:00 pm

The Gruffalo: Fun Pockets £2.49 @ PlayThere's been a bit of a Gruffalo drought of late here at PlayPennies!

I can only assume that the publishers, toy manufacturers, Trunki makers and anyone else associated with the Gruffalo bandwagon don't know....THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A GRUFFALO!

There's so much 'G' stuff floating around on the market that you could be forgiven for passing this one over, BUT I really like these Fun Pockets even in my current state of Gruffalo 'jadedness'.

Basically, there are two different play scenes and a collection of vinyl character stickers that you can stick on and create your own Gruffalo scenes, or lovingly recreate those from the book.

These are great little things for taking out and about with you, as they're small and can easily be slipped into a bag ready to be whipped out when some instant entertainment is called for.

The Gruffalo: Fun Pockets £2.49 @ PlayThe stickers also stick to windows so whether you're travelling in the car, on the bus or going on an adventure by train you can use these Gruffalo Fun Pockets to combat the inevitable 'are we there yet?' mutterings  - just remember not to leave the stickers on the aforementioned public transport!

Play have reduced these from £4.99 to £2.49 and they'd also make for nice little birthday pressies too, if you've got any kids parties coming up.

Lazytown CD And DVD £1.93 @ The Hut

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 1 July, 2010 at 4:00 pm

Lazytown CD And DVD £1.93 @ The HutLazytown - you're either a lover or a hater!

It's been the hot topic of discussion here at PlayPennies for the last 10 minutes - Tamsin wants to eat chocolate in front of Sporticus and I'm not ashamed to admit I'm a hater; I dislike this show almost as much as I loathe Marmite!

But it's not about me it's about the kids and my youngest son and my 15-year-old daugther love it! The eldest son is only interested in World of Warcraft so he doesn't count and I'm outnumbered, hence I know far too much about Lazytown for my own sanity.

Lazytown CD And DVD £1.93 @ The HutAll of that said, Robbie Rotten mildly amuses me! He's such a stereotypical baddy and reminds me of the villanous Hooded Claw from Wacky Races.  But even he's not enough to neutralise the sickly-sweet saccharine Stephanie and goody-goody-big-biceps Sporticus!

However, if you and/or your kids are fans of Lazytown then this CD and DVD deal is going to have you jumping for joy and reaching for your sports candy with glee!

There are 45 tracks on the CD (heaven help us!) - 25 of them are singalong karaoke versions and the DVD features 12 episodes and 1 interactive game.

The Hut have reduced this from £13.79 to JUST £1.93!!!  And that's all you'll pay as there's no delivery to pay when you order from them - a bargain, whether you're a Lazytown fan or not!

Wooden Trike 'n' Trailer £19 @ ELC

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 30 June, 2010 at 8:00 pm

Wooden Trike 'n' Trailer £19 @ ELCIf I was still in the market for something like along these lines, I'd have ordered it!

I like wooden toys; I'm afraid my inner toy-snob come RACING to the surface when I'm confronted with a choice between wooden and elegant and plastic and 'horrible'.

Now before anyone lambasts me for that statement, no not all plastic stuff is horrible, but let's face it wooden toys just have that classic feel and timeless look about them.

This wooden Trike 'n' Trailer from the Early Learning Centre is just lovely - look at it!

There's a few splashes of colour and your little one will love scooting along on it.  And then there's all the fun to be had filling up the little trailer scooting to somewhere else, emptying the trailer, scooting back again, getting more 'stuff' and merrily pootling back and forth all the while they have cargo to transport.

The Early Learning Centre have reduced this lovely LOVELY item from £38 down to £19, so it's an absolute BARGAIN to finish off this PlayPennies day with, notwithstanding their rather hefty (in my opinion) £4.95 standard delivery charge.

Habitat Sale: Up To 50% Off

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 30 June, 2010 at 3:00 pm

Habitat Sale: Up To 50% OffI love Habitat! I'm NOT going to buy anything, I'm just going to look at things to show you...honest!

I hope you appreciate the iron-will this is going to require! I am only grateful there isn't a Habitat close by as this sale applies in store as well as online.

As you can see from the banner, lots of things are included in the sale: all sorts of furniture, household bits and pieces like candles, vases and mirrors and things for kids too.

I quite like this world wall sticker for kids, it's W150 x H80cm, made of vinyl and has been reduced from £39.00 to £27.30 - the blurb says it's suitable for kids over three years, but I'm not entirely sure why...it's not as if it has any small parts!

Carrying on with the kiddies educational theme, how about this wooden numbers game? Each little wooden block has a multiplication sum on it and sits inside the wooden grid - underneath each block is the answer to a sum and you have to match them up and it's reduced from 2 x 9 pounds to 2 x 6 pounds plus 60 pence *grin*.

Go and have a mooch around Habitat for yourself and see if anything takes your fancy - you've got until the 2 August until it's all over.

Denim Nappies: Fashionista Or Fashion Victim?

by Sarah Macdonald in Misc on 30 June, 2010 at 11:00 am

Denim Nappies: Fashionista Or Fashion Victim?Did you know that denim originally hails from France?

Nor me until a quick bit of research revealed that when Columbus took to the high seas on the Santa Maria in 1492, her sails were made from Serge de Nimes, fabric of Nimes.  This was a hard-wearing and sturdy material which was also used by Italian sailors from Genoa for their trousers, and it's widely thought that the name jeans comes from there.

I think almost everyone on the planet has an item or two of denim clothing in their wardrobes...but what about denim nappies?  What do we think of these?

Good? After all, anything that makes nappies look cool can only be a good thing, right?

Bad? You have to be kidding! There's plenty of time for kids to develop hang ups about their wardrobes like the rest of us later.

What's all the fuss about?! No one complains that nappies with dinosaurs printed on them is an attempt to brainwash tiny tots into taking up a career as a Paleontologist - get over it, they're just nappies!

These denim look-a-like nappies from Huggies - complete with pocket styling and everything else that makes them look like a pair of denim shorts - are currently limited edition only and if you want to grab some then click HERE to find out where and when they'll be available!

By they way, if you're a washable nappy fan you can also get denim-look cotton covers for those too...just in case you were feeling left out for a minute there.

IPod Festival Chair £12.99 @ Play.com

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 29 June, 2010 at 12:00 pm

IPod Festival Chair £12.99 @ Play.comIf music be the food of love....then you're going to LOVE this iPod festival chair!

The normal versions of these chairs are fabulous - if you've ever scoffed at people who picnic with them or go to outdoor concerts/events with them slung over their shoulders then you need to think again.

They are lightweight, super portable, dead comfy to sit in AND have two holders for  your drinks - no more putting your plastic pint 'glass' on the grass, getting bits in it or knocking it over!

BUT with this iPod festival chair you get even more, yes MORE I tell you!

Not only is it all, and has all, of the things I've already mentioned, it also has a built in Hi Fi amplifier and speakers so you can plug in your iPod and listen to your music. Now, my first thought was 'what a gimmick! If you've got an iPod why not just listen to it through the headphones instead of inflicting your music on the rest of the world!'

BUT, what if you're in the garden at home, you want to listen to the music on your 'pod but need to keep an ear out of the phone or the kids whilst they're playing? You can either have one ear doofer in and one out or not listen to it at all!

Play.com have reduced these from £34.99 right down to £12.99, they're in stock and there's no delivery to pay either.

Celebaby: Suri Not! & Ang' On Quitting Hollywood

In today's Celebaby we rejoice at Suri Cruise looking like a normal four-year-old and wonder if Angelina really is about to quit Hollywood.

Suri not!

Celebaby: Suri Not! & Ang' On Quitting HollywoodOHHH my heart jumped for joy when I saw these delicious pictures of Suri Cruise barefoot, wearing a simple little summer dress and without a scrap of makeup on!

Just LOOK at how cute she is when she's not dressed up to the nines.  I have to say, the same goes for Katie too who looks about 10 when she's dressed like the rest of us.

Katie is currently filming for the mini-series 'The Kennedys' in which she plays the part of Jackie Onassis, during a break in the proceedings she whisked Suri off for a bit strawberry picking.

I wonder if they played the game we always used to play as kids at the Pick Your Own place?  'One strawberry for me and one for the tub, one strawberry for me and one for the tub'...

It's A Fun Job, but...

Celebaby: Suri Not! & Ang' On Quitting HollywoodAnd so the Brangelina band wagon continues to roll and the speculation  and rumour that Angelina's preggars again have been squashed in a recent interview she did with Vanity Fair.

Mother of six (I can't comprehend having that many kids running around the house) Ang' spoke very candidly about the personalities of all her children and, whilst emphatically denying that she was pregnant, didn't rule out having more children...

"I'm not pregnant. We're not opposed to it. But we want to make sure we can give everybody special time," she also went on to  say, "They're kids now, and can play together, but they're going to need a lot more talking in the middle of the night, like I did with my mom for hours. We want to make sure we don't build a family so big that we don't have absolutely enough time to raise them each really well."

Angelina has just finished filming 'The Tourist' in which she plays an Interpol agent also hinted that she might be about to quit Hollywood to spend more time with the fmaily, and had this to say about her acting career...

"It is not the most important thing in my life, it’s a fun job. It’s a luxury, but I don’t think I’ll do it much longer."

And with all those millions of dollars in the bank, I 'd say she doesn't need to.

The Muppet Show Series 2 £5.85 @ The Hut*Manamanah...do dooo do-do-do...manamanah...do do-do doo...manamanah....do doo do-do-do do-do-do do-do-do do-do-do do.do...* ok that last bit's too difficult to write out but now that's in your head for the rest of the day, let's crack on with the deal *grin*

The Muppets are a timeless bunch and for us grown-ups will bring back warm and fuzzy memories of childhood days. For our kids, who haven't already been exposed to the comedy genius of the Muppets, The Muppet Show series 2 on DVD will be a whole new world of non-computer generated entertainment for them to enjoy.

Everyone has a favourite Muppet and episodes that they remember clear as day; my favourite was always Kermit THE Frog and I couldn't abide Miss Piggy, she just irritated me!

One of the episodes I remember most, however, featured the Swedish Chef - he was chopping vegetables in the kitchen by throwing them up in the air along with a big knife, and when they all fell down, into the bowl of course, they were all nicely chopped.

The funny part came when he threw a cabbage into the air and sprouts came down...as a kid I thought this was utterly hilarious (maybe I was just weird).

The Muppet Show Series 2 £5.85 @ The HutAs a grown-up, my favourites have to be Statler and Waldorf and their heckling from the balcony, I really didn't get their humour as a child but now....comedy genius!

There's no delivery to pay for series 2 of The Muppet Show from The Hut - just £5.85 instead of the enormous rrp of £34.29.
