I haven't yet succumbed to the temptations of an eReader, being more of a paperback chick at heart, but this might just be the moment that I convert because Asda Direct is currently offering the Nook Simple Touch eReader for £39 instead of £59.

It's lighter than a paperback, which presumably means less chance of accidentally dropping it in the bath. The reviews are good too - it scores 4.6 out of a possible 5 stars on the Asda website, and one happy customer had this to say:
"Excellent eReader - I saw the prices had been reduced so snapped one up quickly. It's easy to navigate and download books. Just as good as a Kindle but a lot less money."
However do bear in mind that this won't be dispatched until 14th June.
