“What bedtime story would you like tonight….?”
“Erm….DINOSAURS!”
Girls have stories about fairies and princesses and cutesy animals and all sorts of other girly things. Boys have Thomas and the gang but sometimes they like to get their little teeth into something more… ’scary’.
But you see it’s NOT scary, it’s EXCITING – something I’ve been told on several occasions by my nearly-four-year-old. So if you have a fearless boy – or girl, let’s not discriminate here – then this collection of 10 Dinosaur Cove books will be right up their street.
Jamie and Tom discover Dinosaur Cove and from that moment on have wild adventures with dinosaurs that include NOT being eaten by a beady-eyed and hungry T-Rex.
These stories are aimed at kids between the ages of five and seven and have short chapters that your young readers will be able to manage; the plots are also quick-moving so they won’t get bored and bogged down with slow storylines. And if that wasn’t enough for them the books come with stickers too.
The rrp on this collection is £49.90 but those wonderfully generous chaps from The Book People are letting them go for a published price of £9.99 – but as you probably know by now we want you to have them even cheaper, so use the following voucher codes to drop the price even further to £8.99: free delivery – AFF210 and10% discount – IS001
Sweet dreams *ROOOOAAAAARRR* (that was my best T-Rex impression….not very scary at all apparently!)

Ready parents? Steady? Get your credit cards ready and your fingers poised because tomorrow morning the half price Matalan sale begins. You’re going to have to dive right on in there at first light in order to net those superb bargains.
Although you won’t see anything on the site just yet (well, as of today 28 February), it will all spring into action on 01 March. The hot news is that it is their mid-season, half price sale that will cover a lot of fabulous stock.
I can’t give you any hints as to what to expect, nor can I even whisper at what will be included, but I can say that you’re going to be able to find some lovely clothes for some lovely prices. I hope you have fun and I’ll see you on the other side!

Axel Scheffler is an award-winning illustrator who brought us the iconic visualisation of The Gruffalo, among other such memorable images. Now, his collection has been shrunk into a tiny little library that you can carry with you wherever you go.
The library consists of several mini board books that are stored in a handy slipcase and cost only £3 including free delivery. Stories like Pip the Puppy, Lizzy the Lamb, Katie the Kitten and Freddy the Frog are all included in the kit.
The text is bright and fresh, rhyming beautifully and working with the delightful illustrations magically. Children will be entertained for hours as they leaf through these stunning books. Personally I’m a huge fan of his work, I think that he really does bring creatures to life in such a clever way. One of my favourites was how he drew Room on the Broom (not included).
If you’re on the hunt for some great birthday presents, or even a Christmas stocking filler, then nab yourself a couple of these. At this price, and with this illustrator, everyone who gets them will appreciate it.

So Jordan’s on the straight and narrow! No, not really, who am I kidding! The only thing on the straight and narrow is her daughter’s hair that went from beautifully curly to poker-straight overnight courtesey of GHDs, which were probably encrusted with diamonds, and Alex who’s been put on a strict sperm-increasing diet and general fertility regime!
The hair-straightening debacle seems to have caused a bit of a storm as there are pictures of straight-haired Princess all over the internet and Pete is said to be absolutely LIVID!
Taken as an isolated incident then I’m on the fence as to whether this is such a h u g e deal – my mum curled my hair with curling tongs for a fancy dress party once….although I was more like five and not two at the time. But with a wider context and all the make-up and false eyelashes and Jordan’s ‘knack’ for going totally OTT you have to feel scared for the poor kid and wonder what’s coming next…fake tan??!
And as for the new baby campaign – well I never thought I’d feel sorry for Alex Reid, he really should have watched episodes of ‘Katie and Peter’ then he’d have known what he was letting himself in for.
Apparently they want a baby together and Katie is erm….how can I say this politely…’dedicated’ to this new cause; Alex is said to be EXHAUSTED! He’s been put on a red, yellow and green food only diet as Mrs Reid believes this will boost his sperm count, she’s also banned him from taking hot baths and using saunas and sunbeds so that the relevant bits don’t overheat. Oh please! She’ll be keeping his underpants in the fridge next.
Maybe someone should drop Kaite a line and let her know that too much of the bedroom gymnastics can actually be counter-sperm-productive and as for you Alex – get some backbone man…if you’re that tired you could always say NO (it always worked for me hur hur!).

His roar echoes across the land, all are his prey; trees tremble has he crashes across the plain. One of the greatest predators of all time, the Tyrannosaurus Rex, is looking for lunch. Fortunately for you, he is only an image in a fabulously cool toy that costs only £4.99 at Argos.
This toy has been marked down from £12.99 to £4.99, giving you a saving of over half of the original price. It consists of a unique scanner that gives you an amazing under-the-skin look at T-rex. You move the scanner from head to tail to see exactly how his bones look.
This poster is packed full of fascinating information about the Tyrannosaurus Rex and the toy is pe rfect for kids over the age of six. The customer reviews all say that the toys is wonderfully entertaining and educational with tons of information.
It’s a great way for them to learn more about these fascinating creatures and to enjoy discovering little known facts. I love educational toys and this one is a winner, especially for such a low price.

I don’t know how The Book People make any money I really don’t!
Mention Oxford University Press and you can rest safe in the knowledge that you and your child are in good academic and literary hands.
These work books are aimed at kids aged between three and five years old and contain a whole host of activites to help prepare them for going into school. That said, if you have a super-bright little Einstein then why not go ahead and get them going through these ealier? It’s not as if there are any small parts or whatever that would prevent younger ones from having them.
The subjects cover: numbers, reading, letter formation, colours, the alphabet, shapes and sizes, patterns and shapes, writing, sounds and rhymes and couting so lots to do and learn to keep enquisitive minds busy and active.
The rrp on these is £29.90 but The Book People would like you to have them for just £6.29! Yes, I know it says £6.99 on the website just use the codes below to get 10% off and free delivery; marvellous!
Free delivery: AFF210
10% discount: IS001

*singing* “It doesn’t matter if you’re tiny or taaaalllll….it doesn’t matter if you’re big or smaaaaalllll”
Big is….BIG and purple and Small is….small and orange and they are best pals who live together in a house in the country. If you’ve never seen Big and Small then might I humbly suggest you do…?
It’s charming and funny and features the unmistakeable voices of Lenny Henry (Big AND Small) and Imelda Staunton – she voices the other characters in the show: Ruby the mouse and Twiba the worm who lives in an apple on Big’s apple tree.
The concept is great – looking at things from different perspectives and finding out that sometimes being big is better than being small, whilst on other occasions being small is definitely the better option!
Big is soft and cuddly whereas Small is frantic and sometimes a little crazy – the house they live in has two front doors, one big for Big and one small for Small…but Small ALWAYS refuses to use the small one because he wants to be B I G!!!!!!!
The Hut are offering this DVD with a whopping 81% off the £12.99 rrp and, as always, delivery is freeeee.

Obviously it’s not 5p in total, but the heading was too good an opportunity to miss. This deal is all about saving 5p per litre of fuel when filling up your car at Sainsbury’s. To be eligible for the deal you have to spend £50 or more instore or online at this selfsame retailer.
There are, of course, tons of terms and conditions that you need to be aware of before you gallop on over to the nearest petrol station with the Sainsbury’s logo hanging off the side. First, one till receipt fuel voucher is issue per single qualifying store or online grocery transaction. This does not include delivery charges and is only considered after any discounts have been applied.
So make sure that your total shop, including discount vouchers, is over £50 ok? This is only available from 24 February to 09 March 2010 and excludes the Sainsbury’s in Calais. Snort.
Each voucher is valid for 14 days, including the day it was issued, and the maximum amount is 100 litres per transaction. That last condition had me crying with laughter. Are there people pulling up with fuel storage cartons by the bucketload? There are plenty of other Ts & Cs but they’re there for the reading whenever you get the chance. Happy refuelling!
